MAFS Adrian says Thomas made me feel good, proud and happy’ before they fell out

Married at First Sight UK star Adrian Sanderson has looked back on his relationship with ex husband Thomas Hartley, confessing he was always supportive of him.

Adrian, 37, and Thomas, 31, first met at the altar on Married at First Sight, and despite Thomas calling Adrian "captain curtains", the graphic designer tells us what he was like as a husband.

He shared with OK!: "Thomas was always supportive of me. Whenever I felt down about myself, he would iron that right out of me.

"He would say to me, 'Don’t speak about yourself that way. Don’t think about yourself that way. You’re beautiful. You’re handsome. You’re gorgeous.'"

Adrian continued: "He made you feel good, proud and very happy.

"There were loads of things that I brought to him, and he brought them to me. So that was beautiful."

Many will recall that Thomas was involved in some of the drama in the series, and the star went on to say that he would "defend him if necessary" when his other half got the blame for things.

"Thomas is a pain in the ass. He’s a real fire starter. But he also could at times become the scapegoat," he explained.

"He’s loud, he’s brash, and he’s scouse.

"I didn’t always appreciate that he would instantly get the blame for things and I would defend him if necessary."

It comes after Thomas spoke to OK! exclusively about what it has been like adjusting to his fame since the show.

Thomas said he has "received so much love", adding: "I never felt bad when it ended, although it was a shock to the system, I felt great.

"I had a support system around me and I think, not everyone's had that, but I really have received so much love."

Thomas revealed their parents were proud of him for standing his ground in situations but found it difficult watching him back on the hit dating programme.

He shared: "Obviously any mother would want to protect their child and when it’s on TV, it’s very hard to do that because you're away from them, too. So obviously, it was hard for them watching it back.

"But they do know me best, they know me inside out. And I guess they couldn’t imagine why anyone would believe that I would not say what I say to someone's face."
