Mark Wright in update on his and Michelles Mallorca home nightmare

Mark Wright shares his ‘building nightmare’ in Mallorca

Mark Wright, 36, has given an update on his DIY efforts after the Mallorca holiday home he shares with Netflix’s Fool Me Once actress Michelle Keegan, 35, was left in chaos by builders back in March.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mark revealed: “It was a company I used in Spain. and it just went totally wrong, so I had to go out there and sort it out.”

Fortunately, Mark and wife Michelle have been able to rely on the help of their family members in fixing the building “nightmare”.

The former TOWIE star continued: “As a family, we all dug in and my mum and dad were out there the other week helping me.

“They drove the van there last year with some materials,” he added while speaking alongside his parents, mum Carol Wright, dad Mark Wright Sr.

Mark’s dad added during their family interview, ahead of running the London Marathon as part of FLORA’s Making Healthy Switches campaign: “Those guys are over there, putting it right, so it’s all sorted.”

When quizzed on whether he was starting to see results after the hard work he’s put into the property, Mark told Express.co.uk: “Yeah, definitely getting to the point of seeing the afters, because obviously the decorators are in now.

“So we’re getting very close,” the TV star added.

As fans are eager to find out more about Mark and Michelle’s renovations, the reality star spilled that he and his family could be tempted to front a DIY TV show together in the future.

He divulged: “There are lots of people who talk to us about it. So maybe, one day, we’ll think about it.”

Mark recently posted an Instagram photo of his decorators painting a wall in the apartment in a chic shade of cream.

A social media page for Iconnic Decor shared how they were putting in 12-hour shifts to get the property painted, writing: “Colour going on finally!”

Mark was quick to praise the team as he reposted the snap, adding: “Boys killing it out in Mallorca, can’t wait to get back out there and see the progress!!”

In March, things weren’t going anywhere near as well in the Spanish apartment, as Mark found out that his hired workers had “created problems”

Mark realised he had a six week job to rectify the issues, but only two-and-a half-weeks to complete it.

He told Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on Heart FM: “I bought an apartment just over a year ago, and left it in the hands of some builders that I didn’t know, it wasn’t that I wasn’t happy with the look.

“There was just lots of problems that were created, they tried to cut corners. So then I spoke to another company and the price wasn’t matching up with what I had in mind, and I just thought, DIY, got to sort it myself.”

Mark and his family can fully focus on their DIY efforts now the London Marathon has been ticked off their list.

The star ran the marathon alongside mum Carol Wright, dad Mark Wright Sr, and brother Josh Wright while supporting FLORA’s initiative to encourage people to Make Healthy Switches.

Mark said of the campaign: “My dad’s kind of making a humongous switch by doing a marathon, as he hasn’t gone for a run or a long walk for a long time.

“So it’s a very big challenge. So if he can do this, anyone watching and taking notes, they can do something better than they did yesterday.”
