Megan Fox divides fans with call for donations to friend’s GoFundMe

Megan Fox gets engaged to partner Machine Gun Kelly

Megan Fox found herself in hot water after trying to do a good deed to help a friend Brittney Boyce’s dad, Michael, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The Hollywood star took to her Instagram, where she boasts following of 21.3 million followers, to ask fans to help fundraise towards Michael’s medical expenses.

She shared a screenshot of the GoFundMe page set up by Boyce, who had set a goal of $30,000 to cover Michael’s pancreatic cancer treatment.

Along with the snap, Fox penned: “My friends dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please do.”

However, some social media users appeared to take offence at Fox’s request as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the post – while others supported the well-willed move.

“As if she isn’t rich as f*ck and could help their friend immediately lol”

MickMike76 said: “I am wrong often. It seems like she was trying to do a nice thing by passing along, how people could help out the man, if they were able to.

“People that have money, often donate silently, without seeking the accolades.”

QueenCH6666 responded: “She gave something too im sure.” (sic)

Fox has not spoken out on the criticism or the claims she is a “millionaire”, while Boyce’s GoFundMe page has already raised more than $7,000.
