Mel C drops major hint the Spice Girls will be reuniting for Glastonbury next year
It seems the friendship never ends for The Spice Girls, as Mel C has hinted that the band will be reuniting for Glastonbury next year. As she took to the Avalon stage to perform at the world-renowned festival this weekend, the 49 year old singer claimed that "all" the bandmates would like to sing at the event.
Mel was referring to each of the singers who made up the 90s pop group, including herself, Emma Bunton, 47, Victoria Beckham, 49, Geri Horner, 50, and Mel B, 48.
When Mel C was asked by radio host Matt Everitt on BBC Radio 6 whether the Spice Girls would perform at Glastonbury festival, she replied: "All of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth."
"Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, 'a bit of a warm-up for next year?'" Mel continued.
The pop sensation, who's also known as Sporty Spice, went on to reveal that her former bandmates are "rehearsed" and "ready" to reunite for the iconic festival.
"They're rehearsed, they know the words, they're ready," she said.
"So, if I can drag the other girls along… I say 'drag' the other girls along – all of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth," the 2 Become 1 songstress admitted.
The mum of one insisted that in order for the highly anticipated Spice Girls reunion at Glastonbury to happen, the timing would have to be right.
"It's just getting it together, the timing being right," she said.
Speaking candidly about the fact that many of the former bandmates haven't been on stage for a long time, Mel opened up about it being a "daunting" prospect.
"It's quite daunting, some of the girls haven't been up on stage for years," she said.
"But I think it's, we call it (playing Glastonbury) the bucket list, because as an artist it really is the ultimate," Mel, whose full name is Melanie Chisholm, finished.
On Saturday evening, Mel sang some of the Spice Girls' biggest hits including Spice Up Your Life and 2 Become 1 at Glastonbury.
The Spice Girls reunited back in 2019 for a UK and Ireland tour, but sadly Victoria didn't join them.
Victoria cemented her place as a fashion icon once again this week as she stepped out at Paris Fashion Week.
Taking a break from perfecting her own designs for a change, the former pop star took up a front row seat in Paris to witness this year’s stunning Jacquemus runway show.
Accompanied by her husband, 48 year old footballing legend David Beckham, the loved up couple looked perfectly calm and content as they took in the sights and sounds of the show.
