Miley Cyrus Drops New Single Flowers, Lyrics Point Towards Ex Liam Hemsworth Listen Now!
Miley Cyrus has just released her first new single “Flowers” from her upcoming album!
The 30-year-old entertainer’s brand new song is the first song with her new record label Columbia, and the first track released from her new album Endless Summer Vacation.
Many teases about the song lent fans to believe that it could be about her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, including that it was released on his birthday (January 13). While it was released on Thursday (January 12) in the US, it dropped at 11am in Sydney, Australia, his home country.
Now, some of the lyrics seem to directly point at their relationship.
Check out the song and decipher the lyrics inside…
The song starts out with, “We were good, we were gold / Kind of dream that can’t be sold / We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.”
That last part seems to be a reference to the couple’s Malibu home burning down in a wildfire years ago.
Other lyrics that point to their relationship are “Write my name in the sand,” and “I can take myself dancing,” which seemingly refer to the beach since they lived in Malibu, and the dancing part could refer to a red carpet moment at a Vanity Fair Oscars after party.
