Myleene Klass reveals she demands invoices from daughters Ava, 14, and Hero, 11, for chores done at home in strict pocket money payment regime
Myleene Klass has a strict regime when it comes to paying her children their pocket money, insisting they must do chores and submit an invoice for payment.
The singer, 44, refuses to give daughters Ava, 14, and Hero, 11, money for nothing and says they must log the jobs they do at home and the time they take, while they must document any payments they receive.
Saying her daughters have been living by the rules since the age of five, the former Hear’Say star wrote in her book They Don’t Teach This at School: ‘As a woman in the workplace, I know just how hard it can be to ask for what is owed and then get it.’

Adding that she refuses to pay money out to her offspring unless the jobs and fees are recorded correctly, and their signatures are given, she added: ‘I could just say, “Thank you for cleaning the windows, here’s £2”.
‘But doing it this way means she’s thought about it and she has learned the value of her time and her work, as well as an important skill for later life – how to invoice – should she go into a profession that needs it.’
The radio host said Ava made the most of the system during lockdown, doing more than 200 jobs over the period, meaning the star couldn’t argue and had to stump up the cash.

She added: ‘I want my children to feel empowered every step of the way and know their worth.’
It comes after Myleene, who is engaged to Simon Motson and is also mother to son Apollo, five, said this week that she was ‘extremely honoured and humbled’ as she received an honorary degree from the University of East Anglia.
She was joined by her loved ones at the ceremony where she donned orange and navy robes for the day along with a black cap.

Myleene posed for a snap with her eldest daughter Ava on the university campus where she also gave a speech after being given the honorary degree.
She took to Instagram and wrote: ‘The Doctor will see you now! Dr. Klass at your service.
‘Feeling extremely honoured and humbled to be awarded an Honorary doctorate in letters by the @uniofeastanglia.
‘To all the Norfolk community who have continued to support my family and me throughout my career, thank you.’
