Nick Knowles' girlfriend Katie Dadzie addresses their 28-year age gap

‘He has a Peter Pan complex’: Nick Knowles’ girlfriend Katie Dadzie, 32, reveals the DIY SOS star, 60, acts like a ‘teenage boy’ as she addresses their 28-year age gap

Katie Dadzie has addressed the 28-year age gap between herself and her partner Nick Knowles as she joked that he acts like a ‘teenage boy’.

The sex toy business owner, 32, shared the secret to their happy relationship as she gushed over the DIY SOS star, 60, who recently slammed criticism of their romance.

Katie addressed their 28-year age gap and insisted she doesn’t notice it because she acts older than she is, while Nick has a ‘Peter Pan complex’.

She told The Sun: ‘Nick has a Peter Pan complex, he doesn’t act the age he is at all. He is like a teenage boy and has so much energy, I also act a bit older, so it works out.’

Katie went on to reveal that the secret of their successful relationship is having separate homes and keeping their own independence.

Giving an insight into their relationship, Katie gushed that they are ‘really happy’ and said they make sure to have time apart for their work and to be with their children.

Katie has daughters Savannah, eight, and Alex, five, from a previous relationship, whereas Nick has four children from three different relationships.

He shares his daughter Tuesday and son Charlie with his ex-wife Gillian, while he shares another son, TJ, with dancer Paula Beckett.

Nick also has son Eddie, who was born in 2014, with his ex-wife Jessica Rose Moor, and the presenter met girlfriend Katie through his youngest son.

Katie shared that her two children had befriended Nick’s son Eddie and said they got to know each other through their kids socialising.

However, the Boobbix owner admitted that she didn’t originally like Nick and said it took her a while to warm up to him.

Speaking about meeting Nick, she said: ‘I actually didn’t like him very much (…) ‘I’m very shy and quiet, while Nick is quite extroverted and a complete chatterbox.’

Katie joked that Nick initially didn’t give her much opportunity to talk but said when they went on a coffee date, she got to know him better and realised they had a lot in common.

Romance: The sex toy business owner, 32, shared the secret to their happy relationship as she gushed over the DIY SOS star, 60, who recently slammed criticism of their romance

She said they then spent a lot of time talking on the phone during lockdown – and the pair have been going from strength-to-strength in their romance ever since.

The loved-up couple sparked engagement rumours on Valentine’s Day when Katie posted a picture of a sparkling ring to her Instagram, but Katie clarified it was a commitment ring.

She said Nick had gifted her an aquamarine diamond ring for her birthday in February, followed by an eternity band to show his ‘commitment’ to her.

Looking to the future, Katie said she and Nick don’t plan to have any more children and said she doesn’t know if they will tie the knot.

Nick, who split from his wife Jessica in 2016, made his first appearance with Katie in September 2021, after ending his romance with PR guru Emily Hallinan, 27, in February 2020.

Nick and Katie made their public debut as a couple at a restaurant in Bath after being friends for several years.

The couple have previously come under fire for their romance with Nick recently hitting back at criticism.

In February, the Who Dares Wins host told The Sun that he had recently hit back at online trolls as he and Katie stepped out at the Inspiration Awards in London.

He said: ‘I’m protective of Katie, because people make assumptions about her without knowing anything about her, so that’s why I spoke.’

‘Normally I never comment back to the trolls, but on one occasion when people were a little bit judgmental, I was angry on Katie’s behalf.’

He added: ‘I get upset when they come for people that I care about.’

Nick previously told The Sun about being the target of trolls, saying: ‘I choose to be on TV. As a result, I expect the whole nine yards. I am up there as an object.

Plans: After they sparked engagement rumours, Katie said she and Nick don’t plan to have any more children and said she doesn’t know if they will tie the knot

‘I’ve chosen to be on TV but my children, or my family, or people I date, for them I feel it’s unfair to have a go at them.’

Last year, Nick took to Twitter to point out to his critics that Katie was ‘wealthier and more successful’ than him after cruel trolls claimed she was dating him for ‘fame’.

He wrote: ‘[Katie] is wealthier & more successful than me and is intelligent and independent, unlike the abusive trolls attacking her. ‘What happened to #bekind?’

Katie runs two businesses, one called Boa Boa which sells lingerie and sex toys, and other called Boobbix, which flogs ‘lactation products for breastfeeding mums’.
