Nicola Peltz reveals husband Brooklyn 'panicked' on their wedding

Nicola Peltz reveals husband Brooklyn Beckham ‘panicked’ on their wedding day and texted her ‘are you walking down the aisle?’ after she kept him waiting

Nicola Peltz reveals her husband Brooklyn Beckham was ‘panicking’ on the morning of their wedding, after spending their first night ever apart.

The actress, 28, says the budding chef, 24, kept on texting her as she was getting ready over fears she may suddenly be getting cold feet.

Matters didn’t help as Nicola kept Brooklyn waiting by taking photos in her stunning Valentino bridal gown before she realised she was running late.

‘Our one night apart last year was the night before the wedding. We were panicking. He was texting me the day of the wedding asking, “Are you walking down the aisle? Are you walking down the aisle?”,’ she tells Cosmopolitan as she stars in their April/ May issue.

‘Because I was taking pictures with Luigi and Iango, who are these photographers I’ve gotten so close with. And we love taking pictures together so much that I was like, “Oh my god, I’m going to be late. I have to go walk down the aisle.”

‘When I picked up my phone, Brooklyn had texted, “What are you doing? Are you ready? Are you ready?” I was like, “Yes. I’m going to walk down. Don’t worry. I love you”.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Nicola reveals her hopes to ‘save up money’ to purchase a home and put down some family roots with husband Brooklyn.

The heiress explained the couple are hoping to raise children in Los Angeles due to work commitments and currently trying to gather up the funds for their ‘dream house’.

Coming from an extremely wealthy family, Nicola’s businessman father Nelson is thought to be worth a cool $2.7 billion (£2.2 billion), while her husband hails from the millionaire Beckham brood.

Nicola explained that she and Brooklyn would love to raise a family in New York City, but have decided to work towards an LA base.

Nicola is hoping to make her mark on Hollywood with a budding acting career, while Brooklyn is starting out as a chef.

The actress’ dad Nelson is an activist investor and made his fortune after co-founding investment firm Trian Fund Management.

Brooklyn is the eldest son to former footballer David and singer-turned-designer Victoria, who have a reported net worth of $450 million (£368 million).

Tying the knot last year, the young couple held their nuptials at Nelson’s lavish Palm Beach estate, which sprawls across 13 acres of land and looks out to the ocean.

But Nicola’s father launched a lawsuit demanding wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba hand his £132,000 deposit back.

Mr Peltz, 80, claims the pair were fired just weeks before the three-day wedding extravaganza because of alleged ‘mistakes’.

But last month, Ms Braghin and Ms Grijalba hit back calling Mr Peltz a ‘bully billionaire’ and filed a counterclaim in a Miami court for breach of contract and ‘interference’ with a business deal.

They are also suing bride Nicola Peltz Beckham, her mother Claudia, and wedding designer Rishi Patel for damages of at least £41,000 plus costs, which could run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The women’s company, Plan Design Events, was hired in February 2022, just six weeks before the lavish wedding.

More than 500 guests attended, including TV chef Gordon Ramsay, Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria, Victoria’s fellow Spice Girls Mel B and Mel C and David Beckham’s former Manchester United teammate Phil Neville.

The planners agreed to a fee of £264,000, with Mr Peltz paying a deposit of half that amount.

They were taking over from Preston Bailey – an icon in the industry who previously planned Catherine Zeta-Jones’ wedding to Michael Douglas. He said he left by mutual agreement after a year’s work because his schedule was ‘overcommitted’.

But the planners who replaced him claim things were so chaotic – with multiple guest lists and a bride allegedly ‘too busy’ to speak on the phone – that things went downhill quickly.
