Phoebe Bridgers Covers The Carpenters’ ‘Goodbye To Love’ For ‘Minions’ Soundtrack
Phoebe Bridgers covered iconic pop duo The Carpenters‘ 1972 single “Goodbye to Love” for the soundtrack for the animated film Minions: The Rise of Gru.
“I must live my life alone / And though it’s not the easy way / I guess I’ve always known / I’d say goodbye to love,” she sings in her rendition of the track.
“Goodbye to Love” was released from the Carpenters’ 1972 album A Song For You. The song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The star-studded 19-song soundtrack album for Minions: The Rise Of Gru also features St. Vincent, Brockhampton and Jack Antonoff‘s band Bleachers.
Minions: The Rise of Gru, which is set in the 1970s, tells the origin story of how Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, first met his iconic Minions.
