Pink claims Christina Aguilera wanted to FIGHT at Lady Marmalade shoot

Pink claims Christina Aguilera wanted to FIGHT her during their shoot for Lady Marmalade music video… and denies throwing shade at the singer

Pink is setting the record straight on her feud with Christina Aguilera, and in particular, an incident during the making of their 2001 music video for Lady Marmalade that allegedly almost ended in punches being thrown.

During an interview with Chris Wallace for his CNN show Who’s Talking the host brought up the remake of the hit song for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, for which the two pop stars teamed up with Lil’ Kim and Mýa, and how Xtina ‘wanted to have a fight with you’ behind-the-scenes.

‘She did,’ Pink (born Alecia Beth Moore), 43, said of Christina, 42, wanting to throw down, as she nodded in agreement.

According to the Stupid Girls star, Aguilera got angry enough that she thought she was going to put a halt to the video shoot.

‘She was upset I was sitting in her chair and so [Christina] was going to shut down the entire production,’ Pink added. ‘And I didn’t know I was sitting in her chair.’

Opening up: Pink shared about her drama with Christina Aguilera during the making of the Lady Marmalade in a new interview with Chris Wallace

Drama: The singer, 43, stated Aguilera, 42, wanted to fight with her during a behind-the-scenes incident while making the music video

No punches were ever thrown, but Pink made it clear that she let the You Lost Me singer know she’s not a person to be messed with, especially at that time when she was a tough teenager.

‘I was homeless when I was 15 , and you can’t talk to me any kind of way. And so you picked the wrong one,’ she told Wallace of the confrontation 22 years ago.

It’s at this point in the interview that Pink let it be known that the incident, or any perceived feud between the two stars, is all in the past.

‘But that’s over,’ the singer-songwriter declared, for which Wallace interjected and said, ‘but it’s an interesting story.’

‘It is an interesting story,’ she agreed again, adding, ‘It probably happens every day in every work place. Some people just don’t get along and then they figure it out and they realize what’s important and they hug it out and move on.’

Pink also addressed fans who have accused her of throwing shade at Aguilera during another recent in interview, where she was asked to rank her music video throughout her career, and her involvement in the Lady Marmalade video scored the lowest.

‘It wasn’t very fun to make,’ Pink told BuzzFeed. ‘I’m all about fun, and it was, like, a lot of fuss. There were some personalities… Kim and Maya were nice.’

Those who accused her of shading the Beautiful singer pointed out how she had given shoutouts to Lili Kim and May, but not Xtina.

Upset: ‘She was upset I was sitting in her chair and so [Christina] was going to shut down the entire production,’ Pink added. ‘And I didn’t know I was sitting in her chair’

Pink was not having any of it, and denied her Lady Marmalade remarks were about Aguilera, and that she’s just telling the story of how she remember it all going down during the music video shoot in 2001, as reported by TMZ .

The Get The Party Started star actually offered high praise for Aguilera during an interview on The Howard Stern Show last week, when the topic of the song Beautiful came up.

There had been talk that Pink was upset the writer of the hit tune, her former collaborator Linda Perry, gave it to Xtina instead of her, even after she lobbied hard for it.

‘Linda says to you, “I don’t hear you on that and I gave the song to Christina Aguilera. It was her biggest hit,’ Stern said to Pink, who nodded that that’s how it went down.

But while she admitted to having ‘a complicated relationship with Perry, Pink denied having any problem or issue with Xtina over the situation and went on to reveal, ‘That song ended up where is was supposed to be. Christina sounded incredible on that song.’

A source close to Aguilera told TMZ, she’s got no issues with Pink, and that she enjoyed their professional time together.

The 2001 version of Lady Marmalade for the the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack, with the four pop stars on vocals, went on to become a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, and it also topped the charts in the UK.

The song, written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan, is famous for its repeated chorus line of ‘Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?’ in French, which translates into English as: ‘Do you want to sleep with me?’
