Public ‘opening hearts to Meghan’ after ‘united front’ with Harry, says expert

The public are once again warming to Meghan Markle and she supported husband Prince Harry in the wake of his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death, according to an expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have frequently found themselves at the centre of controversies and made the decision to step down as working royals.

However many royal fans are once again warming to the couple, thanks to their behaviour and united front in the wake of the monarch's sad death.

Meghan kept a low profile at the funeral and events preceding it, choosing to focus on supporting her husband in his time of grief.

Speaking to the Daily Star, relationship expert Juliette Karaman has suggested the public may be beginning to favour the Sussexes once again.

She said: “Seeing Meghan put up a brave act, interact and try to comfort those attending has them open their hearts to her a bit more.

“She can keep momentum in this by continuing to support Harry, continuing to show her kindness to the public and use their hearts and the forgiveness the British people have for the members of the Royal Family.”

In 2020 the couple left the UK, first living in Canada before choosing instead to make a life for themselves in Megan’s home country, the US, as private citizens.

The public scrutiny of the couple continued, and reached new heights after their interview with US TV host Oprah Winfrey.

During this televised special they levied a number of accusations at the royal family including claiming that an unnamed senior royal questioned "how dark" their son Archie's skin might be when he was born.

Meghan also claimed that Kate Middleton made her cry during an altercation about bridesmaid dresses in the lead up to her 2018 wedding.

The couple also said that the then-Prince Charles had stopped taking his son’s phone calls following their move to the US.

However, as they returned to the UK this month, public opinion appears to be shifting, with Karaman adding that the public “want to open their hearts again and forgive.”

Karaman further suggested that there is one way the couple could even further endear the public to them.

She said: “An intimate conversation between Prince Harry and Prince William with the aim of forgiving the other for their behaviour and creating some sort of bond again will be welcomed by everyone.”

Following the Queen’s death, William and Harry have been seen alongside one another on numerous occasions, but it remains unclear if the rift between the two brothers has begun to heal.
