Savannah and Chase Chrisley 'desperate' for TV show as money runs out

EXCLUSIVE: Todd and Julie Chrisley’s children Savannah and Chase are ‘desperate’ to snag new reality TV deal as they face bitter financial struggles after parents’ imprisonment – but are struggling to find network that will work with their disgraced family

  • Chrisley kids Savannah, 26, and Chase, 25, have been teasing a possible new reality TV show in the ‘early stages’ of production
  • However, an insider has told DailyMail.com that they’re struggling to get it picked up by a network after their parents’ $30 million fraud scheme scandal
  • The duo’s former show Growing up Chrisley was axed by USA Network when their parents were convicted of financial crimes in November 2022

Jailed reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley’s children Savannah and Chase are ‘desperately’ trying to secure a new TV deal in order to avoid falling into financial ruin after their parents were jailed over a $30 million fraud scheme.

Savannah, 26, and her brother Chase, 25, shot to fame while starring in their parents’ popular USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best – even landing their own spin-off, Growing Up Chrisley. However, both shows were booted off the air after Todd, 54, and Julie, 50, were convicted of federal tax crimes in November 2022.

Now, four months after their parents were jailed for a combined total of 19 years for their crimes, the siblings are said to be ‘desperate’ to reignite their reality TV careers, with an insider telling DailyMail.com that they are banking on a new series to save their from potential financial ruin.

‘Chase and Savannah have been desperate to be back on TV and at this point are willing to go with any network that wants them,’ the source said.

The siblings parents, Todd, 54, and Julie Chrisley, 50 (filming for NBC in 2018) had three successful reality show before being sent to prison in January

However, finding a network that will pick up their proposed show has proven to be incredibly difficult thus far, with the insider going on to claim that they are struggling to find a home for their project because ‘many networks view them as a liability’ in the wake of their family’s legal controversies.

The insider added that the absence of Todd in any potential show is also causing doubt for many networks because the disgraced on-screen patriarch was seen by many as the main draw for the family’s original series.

‘They are having a difficult time finding anyone, frankly, because Todd is what made the show,’ the source continued. ‘If USA Network was interested in them alone, they would have kept Growing Up Chrisley on the air.’

According to the insider, Savannah and Chase have come up against yet another major hurdle in their bid for reality TV success – the fact that their parents’ court case and fraud scheme made clear that the lavish life and picture-perfect family dynamic they displayed on TV was ‘built on a stack of lies’.

‘They didn’t have the money that they claimed to have, their family was not as perfect as they wanted people to believe it was,’ the source said.

After Todd and Julie were found guilty of $30 million worth of tax fraud at the end of last year, the couple was ordered to pay a $17.2 million fine – with reports at the time suggesting that they would be forced to sell their two mansions, worth a total of $9 million, in order to pay the restitution.

The couple’s enormous financial burden has, the insider shared, left their kids in ‘fight or flight mode’ and scrambling to come up with ways to avoid running into serious money troubles.

In addition to flogging a potential new reality series to every available network, the pair also formed their own real estate company, Chrisley and Co, in January – the same month their parents reported to prison.

Chase said on the Chasin’ Birdies podcast (pictured here) that they are in the ‘early stages’ of production but a source tells DailyMail.com they’re struggling to find a network’ interested

Savannah said a  ‘few production companies’ interested on her Unlocked podcast. However, the source insists that the issue they are facing is that Chrisley Knows Best ‘was built on lies’

Todd and Julie (arguing on a show episode) ‘didn’t have the money that they claimed to have and their family was not as perfect as they wanted people to believe it was,’ says source

Savannah – who was forced to take custody of her brother Grayson, 17, and her niece Chloe, 10,  while her parents are in the slammer – has a successful podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley. She also started a makeup and beauty product line, Sassy by Savannah.

As fans know, Chloe is the biological daughter of Todd’s son Kyle, 31. Prior to having three kids with Julie, Todd fathered Kyle and his older sister Lindsie Chrisley, 33, with his first wife, Teresa Terry.

‘Unfortunately, Chase and Savannah spent money like it would never end and they didn’t save a ton of money for a rainy day. They didn’t save a ton of money for a rainy day,’ the source says.

‘They are both really banking on a network to grab their show and for it to be a success. Hopefully, for them, it is because they are running out of options and money fast.’

Savannah was the first to reveal that they have another show in the works in February on her Unlocked podcast. At the time, she said, ‘Well, you do know, we’re talking to a few production companies about doing another show.’

She told her listeners that it would differ from their past reality shows in that they would be more authentic with their viewers. Chrisley Knows Best was more comedic, and focused on the family’s exuberant lifestyle.

‘We’re going to touch on where we’re at today, Mom and Dad being gone, how we’re coping with it, how we get through it. Also too, having two kids and all of us stepping in to make sure that they have what they need emotionally, psychologically, physically, all the things.’

‘I feel like there’s a level of humor to it as well. It will be heartwarming. It’ll break your heart, you’ll laugh,’ the blonde beauty promised.

Chase discussed where they were at in the process when he appeared on the Chasin Birdies podcast earlier this month.

‘Our new show that we’ve got coming out is definitely going to be different. It’s going to be real raw. The good, the bad, and the ugly. So we’ll see how it goes.’

He said that Todd fully supports the idea of his kids being back on TV and that he shared words of wisdom from behind bars. ‘He was like, “Run it through the roof,” Chase said. ‘I talked to them about it. I mean, I love my dad. One of the smartest human beings that I’ve ever met.’

Although Todd was said to be adjusting well to prison and has even made friends, DailyMail.com revealed recently that Julie is not coping well with life behind bars.

‘She has broken down. She is not doing well at all,’ a source shared. ‘She cannot fathom how she will spend years being locked up and feels that she let her family down.’

A source close to the matriarch said that Julie – who is on month four of her lengthy sentence – is now telling friends that she is furious with herself for allowing her husband Todd to convince her that they would ‘never go to jail’ for the scheme.

‘Todd assured her that they would not go to jail and now Julie regrets what she did in the name of fame,’ the source continued, adding that the ex-reality matriarch is losing all hope that the pair will manage to pull off a successful appeal.

‘She is losing faith that they will get this overturned and she is so sad. It is heart breaking.’

Todd and Julie were found guilty on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion and submitting false documents to banks to take out loans, reportedly worth more than $30 million, to finance their opulent lifestyle.

They were indicted in 2019. After a lengthy trial, they were convicted on 10 counts of fraud by a ten person jury in June 2022.

They received their sentences in November 2022. Their television show, Chrisley Knows Best, as well as the spinoff, Growing Up Chrisley, was yanked off the air by USA network.

On January 17, Todd and Julie both began their lengthy prison sentences – Todd is serving 12 years in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie is serving seven years at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

They have since appealed their convictions and, at the current time, their appeals are pending.
