Strictly Come Dancing star jokes that Meghan Markle plagiarised her content

Upcoming Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jayde Adams has jokingly accused Meghan Markle of “copying” her, as the Duchess appears on the cover of a tell-all interview.

Meghan, 41, has hit headlines this week for a cover interview given to American magazine The Cut, where she covers her new life in California with Prince Harry and their two children.

On the cover, Meghan can be seen wearing a black jumper and green earrings as she stares straight into the camera.

Comedian Jayde Adams, who isset to appear on this year’s Strictly , thinks she’s spotted some similarities between the photo at her own promotional shot, in which she can be seen with a dramatic gaze while wearing a black jumper.

Heading to social media to compare the two images side by side, Jayde wrote: “At this point I think it’s the whole of LA. If you are new to my social media, BASICALLY I have prreeeetttty conclusive evidence that the whole of showbizness is copying me.

“In 2020 I released Serious Black Jumper on Amazon Prime, I have no idea the number of people who watched it cause they keep that on the downlow but 156million people have watched a clip from it.

Let’s not get political under here about your feelings for someone you’ve not met, but let’s definitely smell a plagiarising rat here. For the proof you desire that the entirety of showbizness is on the plage go to”.

However, it seems fairly likely that the comedian is being satirical, as she posted on Twitter a few hours later: “DISCLAIMER: (for the journos) I never put my true feelings about anything divisive on the internet. I only ever want to do funnies and the people I get at are normally very rich. Life is funny, let’s satirise it! Yay yay.”

Fans were cracking up in the comments, with one writing: “You crack me up! Cannot wait to see you on Strictly”.

Another added: “You are the Godmother of the Serious Black Jumper. We will NEVER forget this and will NEVER let anyone else forget.”

Meanwhile a third said: “You are definitely being copied”.

Jayde recently opened up on how she will be doing Strictly for her sister Jenna, who sadly died of a brain tumour in 2011 at the age of 28.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “I think my sister’s definitely orchestrating things for me. It all feels so serendipitous. It’s such an emotional thing for me.”

The pair used to compete in dance competitions together, with Jenna later going on to study dance at university, but Jayde admitted her strengths were in comedy rather than dance.

She joked: “I was trying to be the world’s fattest contemporary dancer. “But it was a lot of getting up and down off the floor, which was tiresome.

“I really held Jenna back in freestyle disco-dancing. Even though I had pizzazz and something about me, back in the 90s if you were chubby you weren’t a dancer.

“My sister wasn’t like that and she was really good – but what it gave me was this real ease on stage which was really useful for stand-up.”
