Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell unrecognisable in throwback snap with fellow pros

Dianne Buswellhas taken to her Instagram to share a throwback snap of some of her fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers who look world’s away from how they appear on our TV screens today.

Dianne, who recently shared her red hair dye routine, took to her Instagram story to share the nostalgic snap with her 861,000 followers.

The Australian dancer, 33, could be seen in the picture going natural with her brunette hair instead of her signature bright red locks.

She was pictured with fellow dancers Gorka Marquez and Faye Huddleston, as well as Dancing with the Stars Australia pro dancers Megan Wragg and Christopher Page.

Dianne looked very different in the snap as she was sporting her natural brunette hair colour which was styled shoulder length with a thick fringe, world’s away from her famous fiery red look.

Popular Strictly dancer Gorka was almost unrecognisable in the old picture as he looked baby-faced with long hair on top which was shaved at the sides as he smiled shyly for the camera.

The dancers were snapped in New York with the bustling city as their backdrop.

The Strictly favourite captioned the throwback picture: “The fun New York days!!!”

Dianne is well known for her red hair, but ahead of her Strictly return, she’s ditched the fiery red for a bright bubblegum pink.

Dianne, who is returning to the BBC show for the sixth consecutive year, showed off the results on her Instagram page in a short video last month.

She was seen mixing up pink hair dye in a bowl. She goes from having bleach blonde ends and a pink base to a multi tonal vivid rose shade. Her colour also features lighter moneypiece accents around the front of her hair.

“Pink was the verdict!!!! I love it. Tbf the red will be back at some point because there’s only so long I can try washing the top and the bottom separately, but for now we love the pink,” she captions the grid image.

Dianne previously asked fans for their opinion on a new colour, and it seems pink was the resounding answer to that question.

It comes as this year’s Strictly Come Dancing celebrity contestants have received glamorous makeovers ahead of the new series starting this month.

The 20th series of the BBC show will see 15 celebrity contestants – including TV presenter Helen Skelton, EastEnders actor James Bye and former England footballer Tony Adams – taking to the dance floor.

This year, Strictly will mark the BBC’s centenary with a special themed week, alongside returning favourites such as Movie Week, Halloween Week and the much-loved Musicals Week.

The show is also returning to the prestigious Blackpool Tower Ballroom after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

Following the death of the Queen, the show's launch date was postponed a week until after the monarch’s state funeral on September 19.

The TV competition was due to return to screens on September 17 but the launch show will now air on September 23 followed by the first live show on September 24.
