Taylor Swift Fans Fooled Into Pre-Ordering Book About BTS
Swifties are falsely led into thinking that an unpublished book, which was originally only listed as ‘4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023,’ is the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer’s memoir while it’s actually about the K-Pop superstar.
AceShowbiz -In a world where Taylor Swift and BTS (Bangtan Boys) co-exist, fans can’t help getting mixed up in the hype over these two global superstars. In the most recent instance, Swifties have been falsely led into thinking that a mystery book is the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter’s memoir, while it is actually a book about the K-Pop group.
The unpublished book was previously listed as “4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023” on McMillan Publishers’ website. For Taylor fans, the clues were everywhere after it was said that the book’s author was scheduled to be revealed on June 13 and that the book would have a 13-hour audio component.
The page count was believed to be 544, and 5 plus 4 plus 4 equals 13, which is Taylor’s favorite number. Moreover, there was an announcement on the singer’s Instagram about the rerecording of her “Speak Now” album that addressed fans with, “Dear reader.”
Despite no confirmation from the 33-year-old country-turned-pop superstar that the book is her memoir, Swifties were convinced so. The yet-to-be-titled book shot up the U.S. bestseller lists this week after Taylor fans pre-ordered the book.
In a shocking twist, the book has now been unveiled as the latest offering from BTS. According to updated listings on some booksellers’ websites, it has now been named “Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS”.
“She drops Easter eggs for her fandom all of the time, I didn’t think it was very far-fetched for all the little clues to line up,” said Michelle Lopez, a social media analyst in Chicago, who also tried to put the pieces together over the past week.
“She plans things out so meticulously,” Michelle added, referring to Taylor’s history of surprise releases. “There was a lot of evidence that it could have been her.” Though it wasn’t Taylor’s book, Michelle believes that the “Cardigan” songstress “was hinting at something.”
“Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS” itself is described as an oral history of the K-pop group written by the journalist Myeongseok Kang and some of its members. It will be published in South Korea by Big Hit Music. It has been translated into English by Anton Hur, in collaboration with Clare Richards and Slin Jung.
