Zendaya and Tom Holland take their love to the Louvre with romantic date in Paris, plus more news

Zendaya and Tom Holland spotted holding hands at famed Parisian museum

After making Emmy Awards history again last month, Zendaya was spotted indulging in a romantic trip to the Louvre with Tom Holland in Paris on Friday (Oct. 7). The “Spider-Man” costars were spotted clasping hands and checking out the historic works of art at the famed museum, according to Glamour. The couple’s cultural excursion comes in the wake of their recent dinner date at New York City’s MAMO restaurant on Zendaya’s 26th birthday in early September. Both outings marked rare public dates for the super-private couple, who opened up to GQ last year about keeping their romance off the radar. “The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own,” Zendaya explained. “I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.” The “Euphoria” star did put the brakes on the couple’s usual privacy approach on Tom’s birthday, though, sharing an adorably cozy photo of the two on Instagram that she captioned, “Happiest of birthdays to the one who makes me the happiest.”

Selena Gomez says she’s ‘grateful to be alive’ in new mental health doc

Selena Gomez invites the world inside her battles with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, as well as lupus, in her candid new documentary, “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,” out Nov. 4 on Apple TV+. The singer and actor, 30, released a trailer for the film in honor of World Mental Heath Day on Monday (Oct. 10), sharing the two-minute teaser on Instagram alongside a caption that read, “Every breath, a breakthrough.” Directed by Alek Keshishian, who made Madonna’s acclaimed 1991 doc, “Truth or Dare,” “My Mind & Me” is the product of six years of footage covering some of Selena’s most challenging personal struggles since her mid-20s. “Just be who you are, Selena,” she says in a voiceover. “No one cares what you’re doing. It’s about who I am. Being OK with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.” Speaking over a montage of footage, Selena later promises herself, “I am going to stop living like this,” then asks, “How do I learn how to breathe my own breath again?” Selena, who revealed her lupus diagnosis in 2015, has spoken openly in the years since then about how the disease has impacted both her mental and physical health. “My whole life since I was a kid I’ve been working. And I don’t want to be like super famous, but I know that if I’m here, I have to use that for good,” she says through tears at one point in the trailer. Another scene shows the star opening up about her fears of not being “good enough,” but the film’s main focus is on how Selena found her way into “a new light” after a “dark” time in her life, according to a press release. “What makes me happy is connection, and it helps me get out of my head … Everything that I have gone through, it’s going to be there,” she says in the trailer. “I’m just making it my friend now.” “My Mind & me” also features music from a new, original song. “My mind and me, we don’t get along sometimes,” she sings. “And it gets hard to breathe, but I wouldn’t change my life.”

Julia Roberts talks kissing close friend George Clooney for new rom-com

George Clooney and Julia Roberts play a divorced couple on the verge of falling in love again in their new rom-com, “Ticket To Paradise.” In real life, though, the stars have been close pals for more than 20 years, as Hoda Kotb pointed out when they stopped by “Today” on Monday (Oct. 10). Asked if it was awkward to kiss “your dear, dear friend” for the cameras, George joked, “It is when my wife and kids come by to visit.” Julia, who also counts George’s wife, Amal Clooney, as a friend, and knows the couple’s 5-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, promptly chimed in: “I mean it was the first day they came to visit. It’s like, ‘Papa, oh, Auntie Juju.’ It’s like — ‘Get ’em out, get ’em out!'” Riffing on the kids’ confusion about his kissing scene duties, George added, “It’s really bad … ‘What are you doing, Papa? What is that?'” Eventually, George laughed and admitted the twins weren’t there when they filmed their kiss. “It’s kinda ridiculous — it is like kissing your best friend,” Julia said, sparking another quip from her co-star. “Well, thanks for that. You know I was a two-time ‘Sexiest Man Alive?'” he teased. Laughing, Julia added, “Then you go, ‘Wait, my best friend is George Clooney.'” The laughter continued when Hoda asked if the two might work on another movie together at some point. “No way. It’s not going to happen. I’ve learned my lesson,” George said with a chuckle. “Meanwhile, he’s put me in his contract,” Julia assured the “Today” anchor. “He can’t live without me on screen.”

Harvey Weinstein sex crimes trial gets underway in Los Angeles this week

Harvey Weinstein’s sex crimes trial was slated to begin in Los Angeles with jury selection on Monday (Oct. 10), as the former producer faces charges that could put him behind bars for life. Harvey — who was extradited from New York, where he’s serving a 23-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and other sex crimes — is accused of sexually assaulting five women in separate incidents between 2004 and 2013, according to a local ABC News affiliate . Although the women will be identified as Jane Does, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom is among the accusers and plans to testify. ABC reports the other women involved also intend to testify. Harvey, 70, has pleaded not guilty. “Like many other women, my client was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein at a purported business meeting that turned out to be a trap,” Jennifer’s attorney, Bel Fegan, said in a statement, according to ABC. “She intends to testify at his trial in order to seek some measure of justice for survivors, and as part of her life’s work to improve the lives of women. Please respect her choice to not discuss this matter outside of the courtroom.”

Eva Mendes shuts down claims she ‘quit acting’

Eva Mendes has not retired from Hollywood, as she reminded Instagram followers on Friday (Oct. 7). Sharing a clip of multiple old headlines that claim she “quit” or disappeared from making movies, Eva wrote in the caption, “I never quit acting.” The mother of two went on to explain that she shifted her focus when she “wanted to be home with my babies and fortunately my other business ventures allowed me to do that more than acting would.” Adding that she was also “not excited about the stereotypical roles” she was being offered when she was making movies regularly, the star noted that her offers were “especially” less appealing “after working on the film LOST RIVER,” alongside her partner, Ryan Gosling. “That was a dream project. That’s a tough act to follow,” she said of the 2014 film. “Whats the point of this post? To shift that narrative,” Eva concluded. “I never quit. ♥️.” Eva and Ryan met on the set of 2011’s “The Place Beyond the Pines.” They share daughters Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6.
