Haircut that makes women looks much older than their age

Many women go down the route of cosmetic treatments or ‘tweakments’ in a bid to take the years off.

However, ladies can shave years off their age in much cheaper, easier ways, such as experimenting with hair cut, colour and style.

Alice Dawkins, hair expert at Milk + Blush, told Express.co.uk: “If you want to age gracefully, one of the first things to consider is how well you care for your skin, body, and hair.

“However, there are certain hairstyles that you should avoid if you want to maintain a youthful appearance.”

Alice Dawkins urged older ladies to rethink their long, blunt locks, as this chop puts them at risk of looking older than they actually are.

However, this does not mean they should ditch their long hair entirely, just add a little dimension to boost volume.

She explained: “Most of us associate long, beautiful hair with youthfulness and because of that, you may avoid receiving regular trims to keep it long.

“However, this can actually make you look older – as your hair becomes damaged, limp, and lifeless.

“Instead, enhance your locks by adding layers that boost volume and add definition, making your hair look healthy – and you look younger.”

While having all strands the same length runs the risk of dragging the face down, layers can be face-framing and super flattering.

And layers aren’t just anti-ageing for those who have finer hair – it’s also beneficial for ladies who have more hair to work with.

“Layers also work well for ladies with thicker hair as they remove bulkiness and weight from the hair to create more movement.”

For those who want to try the long, layered look but don’t already have the length, Alice suggested hair extensions.

She said: “Extensions will help to add some of the desired length, are incredibly versatile and are a great way to experiment with different looks without the long-term commitment.”
