How woman showed off acne-free complexion in just three weeks

How woman showed off an acne-free, plump and radiant complexion in just three weeks without Botox or harsh treatments: ‘This is a secret weapon’

  • Woman used Eco Tan Hydration System on her skin
  • Within three weeks it was plumper and acne was almost gone
  • The small Australian business started in 2009 at a kitchen bench

A young woman has revealed the skincare secret that drastically reduced her acne and left her complexion plump and glowing in just 21 days.

Lizzy developed adult acne for the first time in her life and was introduced to Australian skincare brand Eco Tan and the company’s Hydration Skin System by a friend who had raved about it.

Within three weeks she was singing the same praise.

The popular brand, best known for its ‘game-changing’ face tan water and ‘glory oil’, was developed by flight attendant and mum, Sonya Driver, in 2009.

She was driven to start a natural, organic skincare brand (that actually worked) after her sister’s Melanoma diagnosis and subsequent scarring and started researching the best ingredient combinations.

What resulted was an award-winning range with thousands of fans both in Australia and the world over.

‘I knew that clearing up my new skin issues would take time, but I quickly noticed improvement,’ Lizzy said of her skincare transformation.

She used six products totalling $269.70; the hydration system is designed for healthy, youthful, and glowing skin with a focus on targeting dryness.

‘The Super Citrus Cleanser leaves my skin feeling so smooth and clean and the Acai Exfoliator scrub smells divine – I use this product a few times a week to help clear my skin,’ Lizzy said.

Skincare red flags: Why you should read the labels

With such a saturated market these days we need to be aware of greenwashing, the phenomenon where brands advertise themselves as more ‘clean’ and planet friendly than they really are without much transparency

Synthetic fragrance:

You might know someone (or it might be you) who is extremely sensitive to fragrances and perfumes. Many people are allergic, and it doesn’t take much digging to find out why. Whenever ingredient labels just say ‘fragrance’ or ‘parfum’, it is often an umbrella term for a bunch of added chemicals that legally don’t need to be disclosed. But many of these can have adverse effects on your hormones, skin, and respiratory system when exposed to over a long period of time

Oxybenzone:

Often used in sunscreen, it’s extremely harmful to coral reefs, as well as having negative hormonal effects to human health. Look for an active ingredient of Zinc Oxide, a natural mineral based UV blocker that is reef-friendly and works even better

Talc:

Often used as a smoothing agent in makeup, talc is a seemingly harmless ingredient. However studies have shown it can irritate the eyes, as well as cause respiratory problems and lung disease when inhaled.

When in doubt, opt for organic! Organic ingredients contain no chemicals or synthetic substances like pesticides. Our ingredients are Certified Organic by the Organic Food Chain Australia. This means absolutely NO synthetic or artificial ingredients, no chemical, animal derivatives, amino’s, pesticides or herbicides.

This woman also resurrected her skin using the same routine

‘I was unsure about using an oil, but I ended up loving the Glory Oil. My skin does not feel greasy, only very hydrated. I also used this product on a fresh scar on my sons face and it helped minimise it.

‘The Serum of Plenty helps to minimise some of those lovely melasma spots that I developed in after pregnancy. I use the Super Fruit Hydrator on the days that my skin was feeling extra dry.

Lizzy is one of thousands who have raved about the small business since it launched, with many noticing results within a week of trying the skincare.

Others swear by the brand’s face tan water which gives a natural bronzed glow overnight.

‘Many years down the track, my love of organics and cruelty free products has never wavered. The mighty dollar is not my idol. I am super proud to be a part of the Australian organic industry,’ Sonya said

How do the ingredients work to transform the skin so fast?

Super Citrus Cleanser:  Aloe, Lemongrass and Caviar Lime  deeply cleanse and help regenerate the skin for a smoother and more even complexion

Super Acai Exfoliator: Designed to intensely exfoliate whilst enriching the skin with the powerful antioxidant and brightening properties of Acai. It also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties from coconut and magnesium salts

Super Fruit Hydrator:  Pure Hyaluronic Acid and Wild Harvest Plum will naturally help reduce the appearance of ageing. It will plump and nourish the skin

Glory Oil: The organic cold pressed oil is a powerhouse of omegas and antioxidants. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients perfect for calming acne and irritated skin as well as brightening scars and discolouration

Face Compost Purple Power Mask: This is a purifying and powerful antioxidant rich, anti-inflammatory treatment mask. It has Kaolin Clay to soak up impurities and detoxify the skin, and Avocado Oil to soften and nourish

Serum of plenty: This targets pigmentation and fine lines, reduces redness, and brightens the skin by stimulating collagen production

‘My research and development began from my tiny kitchen. I started to buy samples of all things natural and organic. I bought my lab equipment from eBay and joined chemist forums, trying to teach myself to be a chemist. It was much harder than I thought,’ Sonya says.

‘Looking back, even when I was teenager, I was always interested in health food stores and organic food. While my friends would go to Maccas, I would get a vegetarian jaffle.
