I'm one of Britain's biggest EuroMillions winners with £108m jackpot – here's why I went public | The Sun

A EUROMILLIONS lottery winner who scooped an eye-watering £107million jackpot revealed why he went public with the news.

Neil Trotter bagged the whopping prize money and was faced with a huge decision whether or not to remain anonymous.

The 45-year-old chose to splash the cash and filled his driveway with a Jaguar and a Porsche – before upgrading their parking spaces to a luxury mansion.

But, Neil explained it can be tricky to go public because of pressure to provide people with money.

However, he was overjoyed to buy his sister a house, and help out family and friends privately.

He told the BBC: "It was quite tricky but I don't really see that there's any option than to go public.

He said: "I have had loads of people contact me on Facebook, I’ve probably got about four million kids in this country. Everyone wants a bit of money.

“I never remember a girl called Dawn Scully. I might have met her, I might have met loads of people, I haven’t got a clue. It’s 19 years ago.

“I never went out with her for a year, I can tell you that.”

Dawn Scully was a woman who claimed her son Liam was Neil's child – and he owed a six-figure sum in child support.

Neil however has always denied these allegations.

He confessed it had been a struggle adjusting to his new life, and the race-car fan took about five years to end up where he dreamed.

The Surrey man explained he started to get bored of the unemployed life and chose a house that needed a lot of renovation to fill his time.

And, after completing the project, Neil enjoys the view of his stunning lake against a 400 acre back-drop.

To top it off, the multi-millionaire can watch his new dog Millie also revel in her new surroundings – a cute companion he couldn't afford to home before is cash windfall.

It was also revealed fellow lottery winners have offered their advice on how to handle the massive win through a form of support group.

Camelot were there to help Neil handle the technicalities of scooping the life-changing fortune too.

But the former mechanic always knew he would land on his feet.

In an eerie premonition on the day he won in 2014, he told staff at his dad’s office that “this time tomorrow" he’d be a millionaire.

Just hours later he saw his EuroMillions Lucky Dip bank him an incredible £107,932,603.20 and make him the fourth biggest lottery winner in the country at the time.

This comes as an anonymous ticket-holder scooped a whopping £46 million in the May 5 Euromillions draw.

It follows an incredible string of luck for UK players, after a total of six Euromillions jackpots totalling over £820million in prize money were won.

The record for the biggest EuroMillions win remains the £195million, won by an anonymous Brit in 2022.

Britain's previous EuroMillions record holders were Joe and Jess Thwaite.
