Kate Middletons nail polish rules as fans go wild for new look after breaking protocol

On Easter Sunday, thePrincess of Walesexuded poise and elegance as she arrived at theEaster Mattins Serviceat St. George's Chapel in Windsor, donning a sapphire-hued coat dress and matching hat and jewellery.

Accompanied by her husband,Prince William, 40, and their three children, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, Kate, 41, looked stunning in her 'Mayfair' dress by Catherine Walker, a designer she often favours.

The figure-hugging dress was perfect for the spring weather, however this is not the first time Kate has been spotted out in this outfit. Previously, the then-Duchess of Cambridge had worn the brilliant blue outfit to the Commonwealth Day Service with her husband, Prince William, last year.

However, it was The Princess of Wales' perfectly polished red manicure that had people talking.

According to royal etiquette, brightly-colored or fake nails are not suitable for public appearances. As the royal always abides by the rules and regulations of the monarchy, many fans were surprised to see Kate pushing the boundaries with a bold scarlet manicure.

Kate, along with other women in the royal family never wear coloured nail polish, but the reason why is a bit of a mystery.

According to some sources it's simply royal etiquette, as fake nails or coloured nail polish is deemed vulgar by the royal family.

Plus, for Kate Middleton and the Queen, a nude colour is a neutral shade to wear with any outfit, for any royal engagement.

Even Meghan Markle followed suit for her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games 2017 and kept her perfectly manicured nails neutral.

Mother of three Kate wore her hair in elegant, flowing curls and completed her outfit with an electric blue pillbox hat from Lock & Co during the Easter service.

She complemented her natural beauty with a rosy blush, bronze eye shadow, and a soft pink lip.

The glamorous royal, known for her impeccable style, added the perfect finishing touches with a coordinated set of accessories.

She wore sapphire and pearl drop earrings set in a gold clasp and her iconic diamond and sapphire engagement ring, which had previously belonged to Princess Diana.
