Kate Middleton, 41, and Prince William, 40, went to incredibly privileged schools and received the best education possible. This is the same case for their three children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, as the royal trio attend Lambrook School in Windsor.
Prince William was first enrolled in Wetherby Prep School and then went on to attend Ludgrove School in Berkshire, before attending Eton College from 1995 to 2000.
Similarly, Kate was educated locally at St Andrew’s School before attending two exclusive private schools.
While it has not yet been confirmed, it is expected that Prince George and Prince Louis will follow in their father’s footsteps and join Eton when they turn 13. But what will happen to Princess Charlotte?
The couple’s only daughter would have a number of options with one of them being the Princess of Wales’ former school in Wiltshire.
The Princess of Wales first attended Downe House School in Berkshire and later moved to Marlborough College in Wiltshire where she thrived and was very popular.
Marlborough College charges its students £39,930 a year and is widely considered one of the UK’s top boarding schools with its state-of-the-art sports facilities and grounds.
The historic school has produced many notable alumni, from Princess Eugenie to comedian Jack Whitehall and even Emerald Fennell – the Academy Award Winning screenwriter and actress who portrayed Camilla, Queen Consort in seasons three and four of Netflix’s The Crown.
The website says: “Marlborough College offers a contemporary, challenging and enriching education for pupils with aspiration.
“In an incomparable setting on the edge of a beautiful historic market town, it offers outstanding facilities and exciting opportunities academically, in sports and in the arts.
“Pupils are inspired to pursue excellence and to value achievement highly.”
If George and Louis are enrolled at Eton and the couple wants to keep their three children near their home in Windsor, Princess Charlotte could possibly attend nearby St Mary’s School in Ascot.
This is the school where Prince William’s cousin, Lady Louise Windsor, recently completed her A-Levels.
The description for this school says: “St Mary’s is a warm and caring community where we are passionate about bringing out the full potential of each of our 380 pupils.
“As a full boarding school, with only a few places for day pupils who live nearby, we offer a wealth of co-curricular opportunities, meaning that life at St Mary’s is vibrant, exciting and always good fun.”
It is incredibly likely that Prince George and later his younger brother Prince Louis will follow in their father’s footsteps and attend Eton College.
The famous school charges a whopping £48,501 a year and was set up by King Henry VI in 1440.
It counts royal alumni such as Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince William of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, as well as Sam and Arthur Chatto, the grandsons of the late Princess Margaret.
Eton is famous for its incredible facilities as it has anything its students could possibly want.
In terms of sports, there are approximately 40 football and rugby pitches, a 2km rowing lake, 19 cricket pitches and 50 tennis courts.
