Mum-in-law is excited to clean my home when Im away – its violating

No one likes the thought of their personal items being rifled through.

So when a woman heard about her mother-in-law's plans to spruce up her home, she wasn't best pleased.

Sharing her fears anonymously on Reddit, she wrote: "I am going on a work trip from February 4- February 10.

"My husband told her this and he said she was 'weirdly excited to come over and clean while you are away.'

"Now, I keep a very clean house. I wash my windows every weekend, I move the furniture when I clean, I clean my oven monthly. I vacuum daily. She has even commented that my house is very clean all the time."

With this being said, the lass worries her husband's mum wants to snoop through her belongings.

She explained: "My husband doesn't get it and says his mum is just trying to be nice. I feel violated that she even offered. Am I wrong?"

The post garnered 1,400 upvotes – and the vast majority agreed they'd feel uncomfortable about the situation.

One commenter said: "It’s either snooping or a power play. You’ll come back home and your entire kitchen will be reorganised."

Another wrote: "Say no, you have it how you want it. She definitely wants to snoop through your stuff. I would lock up anything you don’t want her into."

A third urged: "Set your boundaries. Your hubby is clueless. I'm sure he doesn't realise she's being devious."

And a fourth added: "She wants to snoop. I would nip this in the bud immediately and tell your husband he better not allow this."
