Neighbours script producer reveals ‘beautiful’ moment cut from finale

A Neighbours script producer has revealed a ‘beautiful’ moment that didn’t make the final cut in the finale… and there are only so many tears we can shed over the soap ending.

In the final episode, which aired on Channel 5 in the UK last night and boasted millions of viewers for the emotional farewell, Toadie (Ryan Moloney) and Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) tied the knot in a jubilant ceremony.

However, what viewers missed out on seeing was a special interaction between Callum (Morgan Baker) and his new stepmother Melanie after his dad exchanged his vows.

Shane Isheev, who’s a script producer on the Australian programme, shared a picture of the dialogue in the script which was omitted, saying it was their ‘favourite moment to write’.

‘Unfortunately it was cut short for time, so we never got Callum’s beautiful speech. @CowdenLucinda was brilliant (as always),’ Shane added.

In the sweet moment that wasn’t shown in the finale, Melanie is left ‘speechless’ after she’s presented with a crystal pig ornament by her new stepson.

‘To @ShaneIsheev and @jason_herbison thank you for bringing her home and giving me the happiest of happy endings.’

Callum actor Morgan reshared the piece of script that didn’t make the final cut, writing: ‘Luckily, “Dad Said you were into pigs.” did make the cut, which we can all agree really provides a similar sentiment.’
