Poundland makes major changes in all 800 stores – and shoppers will notice the difference next time they shop | The Sun

POUNDLAND has made major changes across all of its UK stores – and it's good news for customers.

The chain has slashed the price of dozens of products across more than 800 branches and customers can get up to 50% off.

There are price drops on everything from four packs of Galaxy bars, Multi Grain Rice Krispies and even smoke alarms.

It comes as food inflation shot up to 17.5% in the month of March – that's an annual increase of £837 for the average household.

It means families' wallets and purses are being stretched further, on top of soaring energy bills.

Here's the full list of items Poundland has reduced in price:

The scheme effectively mirrors the Tesco Clubcard, which offers customers exclusive prices on 8,000 products if they sign up to the scheme.

These members-only prices can save the average customer £350 a year, according to the supermarket.

Millions of Tesco customers are signed up to the loyalty scheme.

It also comes after Poundland announced it will open 50 new stores by the end of September this year.

The move will see up to 800 new jobs created, with stores opening in places including Glasgow, Birmingham and London.

How else can I save money at Poundland?

It's not just about looking for the cheapest items in Poundland – there's other ways to save money at the retailer.

You should visit first thing in the morning, when your local branch will be fully stocked from the day before.

Meanwhile, it's always worth checking out the clearance shelves – even in Poundland you can get items for cheaper than usual.

Where the clearance shelf is will vary from store-to-store, so if you're not sure where it is, ask a staff member.

You can always check prices on the Poundland website too – if you find a product online at a certain price and it's not that in your local branch, you can ask a manager whether they can price match for you.

They aren't obliged to, but it's always worth asking.
