Shoppers rush to buy spicy twist on a Christmas dinner essential at Sainsbury's – but some are divided | The Sun

SAINSBURY'S fans are rushing to buy a Christmas dinner essential, although not everyone is convinced.

The snack in question is a new take on classic pigs in blankets – but with a spicy twist.

Christmas wouldn't be the same without the family bringing out little pork sausages wrapped in bacon (if you're not veggie).

But what would you make of new jalapeño and cheese versions?

Sainsbury's is selling them in packets of 12 for £3.75.

The interesting find was posted to social media, with many fans sharing their thoughts.

And another joked: "There the pigs in blankets I’m leaving for you this year."

The supermarket also sells packs of 12 ordinary pigs in blankets for £3.25, if that's more your thing.

We couldn't find any other jalapeño and cheese versions, but Morrisons does sell packs of 10 cheesy pigs in blankets for £3.

But always remember to shop around if you want to try some. There could be similar items on sale elsewhere for less.

For example, Tesco does 20 pigs in blankets for £3.60.

Aldi sells 12 for £1.99.

And M&S sells 16 for £5.50 if you shop from Ocado.

Prices may differ in store for that one.

Remember to factor in delivery costs if you're shopping anywhere online.

In other news, Aldi's Haysmith Gin Advent Calendar will be out on October 30 for £39.99. It'll be out both in-store and online.

But instead of containing 24 mini bottles, this time it's only 12 – meaning it costs approximately £3.33 per 5cl bottle.

John Lewis also has a gin and tonic festive calendar for £60 – and it contains 24 bottles.

That's only £2.50 per bottle.

Asda also does one for £50 with a selection of gins from Beefeater to Edinburgh Gin included.

But Aldi also has another calendar out on October 30.

It'll be selling a mini collection of elegant whites, reds and fruity wines for £59.99.
