Scott Mills’ wild and boozy Radio 1 leaving party with Rylan and and Pixie Lott among guests

Last weekScott Millsand Chris Starkcompleted their final show for BBC on Radio 1after 12 years of presenting together.

Scott, 48, has been a staple at Radio 1 for more than two decades and is set to move to BBC Radio 2, where he will take over the 2-4pm slot, previouslyheld by presenter Steve Wright since 1999.

Meanwhile Chris, 35, who started hosting with Scott in 2012, is set to leave the BBC completely and join Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast.

To mark the big day and give the pair the send off they deserve, they celebrated with a leaving party featuring pals Rylan Clark and Pixie Lott.

Rylan, who is a regular host on BBC Radio 2, posted a snap of himself giving Scott a kiss on the cheek during the party.

While elsewhere, Pixie was excitable as she slipped into a green co-ord and posted pictures from the night, including some funny shorts with Rylan.

The duo's final show at Radio 1 was unarguably emotional for everyone, from listeners to celebrities, and the pair made sure they pulled out all of the stops for their last ever broadcast.

The final opened with a montage of messages from listeners, including Scott's partner and Chris' wife and son, before Scott was informed that the BBC Radio 1 studio will be renamed after him.

During the Breakfast show with Greg James earlier in the day, Scott had joked about renaming the studio, but it later became a reality. The studio, previously known as 82A, will now be called 82 Mills.

“I can’t cope with this, it’s too much. I can’t believe it. That’s amazing. I am so sorry that has totally thrown me off. This is the ultimate honour thank you so much," Scott gushed on air.

Chris then added: “The first show from 82 Mills will ironically be our last.”

The show featured a number of songs that both Scott and Chris have championed over the years and Scott even played Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas, to continue to "tradition" of starting Christmas on the show.

Chris then shared an emotional goodbye message live on-air, and said that presenting alongside Scott has been the “biggest privilege”.

Scott followed this up with his own lengthy message, which he delivered as he tried to hold back tears.

He said: “I, like millions of you, have grown up with Radio 1, it has been more than half my life sat here talking to you. In that time I have publicly come out, met some of my best friends, had break-ups, found love and lost it, said hello and goodbye to family and every low this show has got me through and every high I have been lucky enough to celebrate, Radio 1 has been the constant through all this.

“We have done so much stuff over the last month, people have sent immensely kind stuff of what the show has meant to them, the truth is everything we have meant to you, you have meant to me."

"We are your friends, it is not an act or a performance, we are your friends. We were a safe space to a lot of mad things going on. Radio 1 is your mate. Thank you so much wherever you are listening right now….thank you to every single one of you. This show is nothing without you, your calls, texts, your friendship.

“If you ever feel there is no one there, if you feel lost, I will say one thing, turn on the radio.”
