Soap-mad toddler is 'EastEnders' youngest fan': 'She loves it'

Meet Aurora Pescani, the very little soap fanatic with a huge passion – so much so, her mum calls her ‘EastEnders’ youngest fan’.

Mum Morgan Beckett, 20, will settle in to watch the BBC soap with Aurora’s 30-year-old dad, Albert Pescani, after tucking the 17-month-old into bed every night.

But even though it’s past her bedtime, the tot comes racing out of the bedroom when she hears the iconic opening track, yelling ‘wait’ at her mum.

She’ll dance to the opening credits before calmly watching the drama unfold.

Morgan, from Sittingbourne, Kent, said: ‘She’s EastEnders’ youngest fan, she loves it.

‘She runs from wherever she is every time she hears the theme tune. She’ll start dancing and screaming with excitement.

‘Bedtime is early evening and around the time EastEnders comes on she’s always trying to see if she can stay up a bit longer.

‘It’s funny – she takes herself off and she’ll get in bed. She hears the EastEnders theme tune and then comes running in. [This time] I thought I’d record her.

‘She’ll run in, run in a circle and dance, then she’ll watch it. In the video, she’s shouting “wait” as in “wait for me”.’

Like most toddlers, Aurora is usually always on the move, with stay-at-home-mum Morgan saying she won’t even sit still like that to watch Elmo, her favourite cartoon.

Morgan said: ‘She’s a one year old, and she’ll watch it all, she loves it.

‘She loves Elmo, but that’s the only cartoon she’ll watch. Even during that she’ll still walk around and play at the same time.

‘But EastEnders is different, she’ll watch that the whole way through.

‘She’s really focused on it the whole way through and doesn’t take her eyes off the TV.

‘When the theme tune comes on at the end she’ll get up and start dancing again.

‘Then when it finishes, she looks at us and goes “gone” then takes herself back off to bed.’

After sharing the adorable video of Aurora celebrating the start of the soap on social media, the clip garnered around 1.2 million views and more than 200,000 likes and comments.

‘I didn’t expect the video to blow up as fast as it did,’ said Morgan.

‘Everyone is finding it really funny on social media and tagging their friends. They’re all finding it hilarious.’

One amused commenter wrote: ‘This is brilliant I’m crying. The way her little legs run in.’

Another said: ‘Now that’s a cultured baby right there.’
