The Traitors US star Arie Luyendyks life off screen from stunning wife to racing driver career

The US version of hit show The Traitors recently landed on BBC iPlayer, and fans are hooked once again.

The Traitors US is nearly the exact same as the UK version, with contestants heading to the same remote castle in the Scottish highlands for the duration of the series, which will see them take part in various tasks in the hope of building up a prize pot worth up to $250,000 (£205,000).

The main difference between the two shows is that the cast of the American version is made of up of both reality TV stars and ordinary people, while the UK version is celeb free.

One familiar face who appears on The Traitors US is Arie Luyendyk. Let's take a look into his impressive career and life away from the cameras…

Arie, 41, is a a Dutch-American auto racing driver, who is the son of former professional race car driver Arie Luyendyk.

Arie, who started racing karts in 1992, has competed mainly in North America, where his father lives and also competed, and is best known for competing in the Indy Lights Series. He's also competed in various sports-car series, including the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona.

His racing career saw him land spots on hit TV shows, and in 2011 he competed on the ninth season of Hell's Kitchen.

In 2012, Arie then appeared on The Bachelorette before going on to appear on The Bachelor in 2017. He asked Rebecca Kufrin to marry him at the season finale, but later expressed his regret over not pursuing a romance with runner-up Lauren Burnham.

Arie and Rebecca broke up not long after the series ended, with their split being televised, and the racing car driver revealed he'd been in touch with Lauren.

The pair soon began dating and got engaged, with Lauren relocating to Scotsdale, Arizona to be with her new beau.

In January 2019, Arie and Lauren tied the knot and their first child, a daughter named Alessi, was born in May later that same year. The couple then welcomed twins, Lux and Senna, in June 2021.

Dad-of-three Arie now works as a real estate broker for RE/MAX in Arizona.


Lauren, now known as Lauren Luyendyk, documents her and Arie's family life on her popular Instagram account, which boasts 1.3 million followers.

Most recently, the couple jetted off on a family getaway and celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.

Sharing a snap of them aboard a boat, Lauren wrote: "such an amazing time unwinding the last few days w/ my best friend. happy 4 years together & to an eternity more love you!!"
