A woman thought someone had written "b***h" on her sandwich when she ordered a BLT – and the blunder left people in stitches.

The social media user, known as Festive Irish Lady on Twitter, shared a picture of her lunch on social media to tell people what happened.

She said she had to speak to the manager after she thought an employee at Jimmy John's had written "b***h" on her order.

The woman shared a picture of her food, which was covered in paper, and it looks like someone had written "b***h" across the top of it it black marker pen.

Left confused, and perhaps a little hurt, she told people she went to speak to the manager to get an explanation.

When he told her what the message meant, she was left in stiches of laughter.

Writing on Twitter, she said: "I took my sandwich out of the bag and I saw THIS!

"I went back and spoke with the manager an demanded an explanation.

"He looked confused, so I pointed at the writing and asked why someone felt the need to write it.

"He answered: 'because you ordered a BLT with cheese?'"

Essentially the "I" is a dash, and the writing wasn't intended to be offensive at all.

Nonetheless the blunder left the woman, and people on social media, crying with laughter because it was such a silly mistake.

The tweet has since been liked over 20,000 times, and over 2,000 people also left replies.

One person said: "This happened to me!

"The pizza guy dropped a note through my letterbox after delivery saying ’nice to meat you thin crust’.

    "My husband went nuts!

"It was the name of pizza with a thin crust."

Another added: "The fact that you went straight to the manager to ask for an explanation.

"I could understand why you assumed it was something else."

Meanwhile, a third said: "That's made my day!"
