You'll never guess what this pizza is made from

Mum wows after sharing her delicious pizza – but you’ll never guess what it’s made from

  • A home baker has shared how she made a pizza out of Woolworths apple cakes
  • Used a variety of foods for toppings like fruit roll-ups, dried mango and Caramilk

A home baker has impressed hundreds after sharing her incredible pizza cake made from Woolworths apple and cinnamon cakes.

The Australian woman, called Chantelle, posted on Faceboook, where she explained she used three apple and cinnamon tea cakes from Woolworths, along with some strawberry jam, roll-ups, licorice, fruit bars and Caramilk chocolate to make the cake for her family.

Chantelle shared the results of her handiwork on Facebook, where she wrote: ‘You know it’s worked well when the guy beside you says “wtf did you buy a pizza for?”‘

Chantelle added: ‘I did it! I used three Woolworths apple and cinnamon tea cakes. The base (apple and cinnamon tea cakes) have now been discontinued by Woolworths, but this is what the toppings are made of’.

First up, Chantelle said she got three apple and cinnamon tea cakes from Woolworths, and then she cut the tops off and mashed them into a round shape like a pizza.

Following this, the home baker added the pizza crust by using the remainder of the teacake edges and used strawberry jam to create the illusion of a tomato base.

She topped the cake with an assortment of sweet foods as the toppings and then put it in an old pizza box to fool her family (box pictured)

3. Lather strawberry jam across the cakes as the tomato base.

4. Use roll-ups for salami and green capsicum strips, and dried mango slices for the yellow capsicum.

5. Cut black licorice and hollow it out with a straw to make the olives.

6. Use fruit bars cut and shaped for pepperoni and pineapple.

Next, Chantelle used some fruit roll-ups in the place of salami and green capsicum strips and dried mango slices for the yellow capsicum.

‘I used black round licorice cut and hollowed with a straw for the olives,’ she said.

‘And then used some fruit bars cut and shaped for the pepperoni and pineapple.’

Finally, Chantelle used mint pattie chocolate ‘scraped off and shaped for the mushrooms’ and grated Caramilk and coconut for the ‘cheese’.

‘The box was free from our regular takeaway place,’ Chantelle added.

‘It tasted pretty gross unless you picked it apart which I was smart enough to so. Apple and licorice don’t go very well together.’

This isn’t the first time a home baker has wowed with a deep-crust pizza cake (pictured), when many said they couldn’t believe it wasn’t a pizza

Hundreds who saw the cake were quick to say they had been fooled by her handiwork, writing things like ‘this looks amazing’ and ‘bravo’.

‘How you turned the tea cakes into a pizza base I’ll never figure out,’ one commenter wrote.

‘Awesome,’ another added.

This isn’t the first time someone has used a Woolworths cake to turn it into a pizza.

Previously, another Australian woman called Kellianne wowed thousands with her deep-crust pizza cake.

‘That’s amazing, I can’t believe it’s not a pizza,’ one person wrote.

‘OMG thought it was a Facebook advertisement and was looking to see what pizza bar it came from as it looks that good,’ another added.
