9-1-1 Lone Star fans fume at Owen’s ‘weird’ relationship twist

The 126 captain is still struggling to build a life for himself in Austin, Texas, and the next episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Fox will throw yet another earth-shattering twist his way to shake up his love life. Just as Owen Strand (played by Rob Lowe) starts to get comfortable with new girlfriend Kendra (Michaela McManus), he’ll discover she’s been keeping even more secrets from him than he thought.
In the new teaser for the next episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star, ‘Open’, Kendra reveals she’s in an open relationship with her husband.
The synopsis reads: “Owen is shocked by a secret Kendra has been keeping from him.
“Grace Ryder (Sierra McClain) confronts her father about his past infidelity.”
While Grace prepares for some difficult conversations of her own, Owen is stunned when Kendra’s husband walks in while they’re in bed together.
Kendra assures him they have a “non-traditional marriage”, but the situation goes from bad to worse when her husband is found frozen to death in his cryotherapy machine.
Although the latest promo has set up another intriguing case for the 126 team, 911 fans were more concerned Owen’s chaotic love life will be the focus of yet another episode.
When the teaser trailer was released on YouTube, user Anna Abbassi exclaimed: “OMG why?!?!
“Can’t they just let Owen be in a relationship that’s beautiful and somewhat simple!”
“Great ANOTHER episode next week about Owens’ boring love interest,” Megan Doyle wrote with rolling eyes emojis. “Isn’t this episode meant to be about Grace?”
Kelena Davis commented: “Y’all just have Owen up and down the block with these women.
“First his ex-wife dies, other woman left him, now this one married. Give the man a solid relationship.” (sic)
And BrittKGM fumed: “AUGH!!!! Why can’t they let Owen be happy?!?!?!”

On Twitter, @1LadySky2Blu posted a bored reaction gif and wrote: “Another weird entanglement with Owen’s current love interest.”
@AC_john316 added: “And of course no Grace promo but they show Owen and his mistress.”
Throughout the series so far, Owen has been unlucky in love with four relationships all ending in disaster.
His first marriage to Gwyneth Morgan (Lisa Edelstein) ended in divorce, and she was later killed in a freak bicycle accident.
Owen then remarried a woman named Lorraine, though she was never introduced and the relationship also ended in divorce.
Later, the captain briefly dated psychology professor Zoe (Natalie Zea), though this relationship didn’t last long, leading to another romance with Catherine Harper (Amy Acker).
Catherine was the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Texas, but in season four she ended things with Owen to move to Washington DC.
He has since started dating Kendra, a billionaire heiress, but they could be in for a bumpy ride over the coming weeks.
9-1-1 Lone Star season 4 continues Tuesdays on Fox in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
