All Christmas spoilers for EastEnders, Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks

It’s come round so quick hasn’t it? After a year of flashback episodes, big returns, affair scandals and cow stampedes, it’s hard to think what EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks could possibly throw at us at Christmas this year.

But they have a lot in the bag, with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) making dramatic exits from Walford, and two wedding dramas in Weatherfield for Fiz and Tyrone (Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall) and Daniel and Daisy (Rob Mallard and Charlotte Jordan).

Over in the Dales, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) gets a game-changing blast from the past, while Prince McQueen’s (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) wedding day is thrown into chaos in Hollyoaks.

So what can we expect? Here’s your guide to everything in soapland over the coming Christmas and New Year period.

EastEnders

Mick and Janine’s showstopper exits

It’s been a long time coming but Christmas Day will see Janine’s scheming and lies exposed at last.

Shirley is on the case, but unable to find that last piece of evidence so she and Linda head to The Vic, where they make peace with Mick over recent events.

Janine, meanwhile, finds herself distracted as she spots Jada Lennox returning home for a festive lunch with Sharon and – determined to stop Linda from crossing paths with her – she invites both Linda and Shirley to stay for Christmas dinner, which won’t at all be suspicious or awkward.

Shirley begins to quiz Janine over lunch, hopeful to expose her, and an argument ensues as Janine manipulates the situation.

Scarlett (Tabitha Byron), however, walks in. Will she reveal the truth about her mum’s wicked ways? Or will it be Jada and Sharon tasked with spilling the beans?

As the truth finally explodes, Mick realises who Janine really is – and it sparks off the ending to end them all.

Somehow, the showdown leads Janine, Mick and Linda to a clifftop and, as a car plunges over the edge, Mick plunges into the sea.

Lives are on the line and, with both Mick and Janine set to exit, who will survive?

Is tragedy going to change things forever?
