Bake Off’s Val Stones, 72, confirms Hollywood role in DC Comics film alongside Keanu Reeves
The Great British Bake Off's Val Stones has revealed that her voice was used in DC Comics film DC League of Super-Pets earlier this year.
Val, 72, soared to fame in 2016 on the seventh series of the hit Channel 4 baking show, which was airing on BBC at the time and where Candice Brown was crowned the winner.
And now Val has switched the tent for Hollywood after her voice, as well as judge Paul Hollywood's, was used in DC League of Super-Pets, which stars The Rock, Keanu Reeves, Olivia Wilde and Kevin Hart.
The animated film sees Krypto the Superdog (Dwayne Johnson), who is Superman’s (John Krasinski) pooch and obsessed with Bake Off, attempt to save the world from an evil guinea-pig.
Speaking about the role, Val admitted that she didn't know anything about her voice being used for the film until fans started pointing it out to her.
She told The Sun: "The biggest thing that has happened since Bake Off is Keanu Reeves and The Rock having to wait until I say my words in the latest DC League Super-Pets movie.
"Honestly, I had people saying, 'Val we heard you in the latest movie,' and I said 'Oh I don't know anything about this.'"
Val admitted that she was "embarrassed" not knowing that her voice was being used in the film and so she got in touch to find out if it was in fact her.
She added to the publication: "Anyway, I got a message back from them and they sent me a thing to sign!"
It comes after Val previously asked her 69.5K followers whether her voice was used in the movie in a clip shared to her Instagram in July.
The baker penned: "Am I in DC League of Super pets well my voice anyway. I’ve been contacted by friends who have watched the movie and they are sure it’s my voice in a bake-off clip in the movie.
"Anyone else think it’s me ? It seems @paul.hollywood voice is in it too . #voice #voiceover."
It comes as The Great British Bake Off returned to Channel 4 on Tuesday 13 September for the new series complete with a Star Wars skit.
