BBC Breakfast turns hostile as Charlie shuts down Naga’s ‘dangerous’ challenge

Things turned hostile between the two main hosts on Thursday's episode of BBC Breakfast (August 11).

Naga Munchetty and her co-star had been busy discussing their favourite snippets from today's newspapers, with Charlie Stayt revealing a piece about "sneezing sponges" first.

After listening to her co-host's spiel, Naga chimed in, holding up her own segment which she appeared to be really excited about – with Charlie seemingly less then enthusiastic.

"Talking about things taking longer in water, how long can you hold your breath for?" demanded Naga.

Looking puzzled, Charlie shot Naga a confused face and remained silent, with the Radio Five Live star adding: "Just try from now, okay."

Checking that the presenter was in on the challenge, she asked: "Are you holding it?"

"No," responded Charlie, to which Naga moaned: "Ohhh come on, play the game."

Standing his ground, the BBC presenter shot back at Naga, telling her again: "No, because it's dangerous and risky."

"It's not dangerous," insisted Naga.

Charlie refused: "It's very very dangerous, I'll look up the guidelines, there's some guidelines about this."

Unimpressed, Naga fumed: "I imagine there will be," as she continued to speak about the news clip.
