Better viewers switch off just minutes into 'slow and confusing' BBC thriller's premiere | The Sun
VIEWERS of new BBC drama Better admitted to feeling 'lost' as the drama kicked off last night on BBC One.
However it appeared that many that tuned in were hoping the show would live up to its name and get a bit 'better' after what they called a 'slow' start.
The new drama is set in West Yorkshire and sees DI Lou Slack's friendship with crime boss Col McHugh put under the spotlight.
During the episode, viewers watched on as Lou was forced to deal with a number of work issues, however it appeared that many of them were in fact not legit and viewers soon saw as she lied to her husband to cover up where she had been.
Having ditched him at a party to see to some important business, mysterious Lou tightly wrapped a balaclava around her face whilst walking into a premises with her hood up to find a dead boy lying on the floor.
Despite the horror of what she had found, she brushed it off by simply telling her partner she had to do some urgent paperwork and that it was now sorted.

It quickly transpired that Col was somehow involved and connected with the body as he thanked Lou and shared gratitude to her for 'helping' him out.
Later, it appeared that Lou was more heavily connected to Col that at first thought as she was soon left realising even more crimes and tasks she was tackling with related back to him.
The slow and confusing start appeared to leave BBC viewers in despair.
Writing online after the show had aired, one fan said: "It's bloody slow, isn't it. *drums fingers* #Better."
