Billy and Honey destroyed by grief over Lola's death in EastEnders
The residents of Albert Square have been rocked by the tragic, untimely death of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) in EastEnders, but none more so than her ‘pops’ Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
Billy and Lola were incredibly close, and her death has left him completely broken.
Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour last November, leaving her family completely devastated.
Over the past few months her condition deteriorated, until she sadly passed away on May 31, with daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) asleep beside her.
Wanting to get out of the house the next day, Billy and wife Honey (Emma Barton) headed over to the Queen Vic, where they hoped to have a quiet drink away from the heavy atmosphere at home.
However, when they arrived, music was blasting from behind the bar where new arrivals Gina and Anna Knight (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) were trying to get the party started.
Though Billy was prepared to start a row, Honey stopped him, and the pair headed back out into the Square.
Sitting on a bench outside, Billy reflected on how he had wanted to kick off, but realised that getting arrested again wouldn’t solve anything.
Billy was held in custody earlier in the week after his grief led him into a scrape with Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).
Following the confrontation, Billy smashed the shop window of the Minute Mart, before elbowing detective Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) who was trying to arrest him.
While Honey agreed that she didn’t want anymore trouble, she pointed out that she believed he should be angry about how unfair the whole situation was.
When Billy asked what shouting would do, Honey said it might help them get their anger out.
As she screamed about how unfair it was, Billy joined in, before breaking down.
He collapsed into Honey’s arms, who promised that somehow, they would get through the pain together.
