Bradley Walsh has revealed he has "no interest" in appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, as he eyes up his "dream" role on a rival BBC crime drama.

The presenter and actor, 62, hosted a celebrity special edition of The Chase on Saturday (October 29).

While introducing the ITV programme's first celebrity guest and former Strictly star Chizzy Akudolu, Bradley revealed his desire to follow in Chizzy's footsteps by starring in Death in Paradise.

He asked Chizzy: "Guess which job I want to do that you've done?"

Following a number of incorrect guesses from Chizzy – she asked if Bradley wanted to follow in her footsteps by starring on Strictly.

    Bradley replied: "No."

He later confirmed that he wished to star in "Death in Paradise."

The crime drama premiered in 2011 and memorably starred Red Dwarf's Danny John-Jules and Ben Miller.

Following Ben's departure, Kris Marshall joined the show – though both he and Danny have since quit the series.

The Royle Family star Ralf Little later joined the cast as DI Neville Parker, replacing Ardal O'Hanlon.

Death in Paradise is set on the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie.

The show is filmed on the Guadeloupe Islands.
