The popular Holby City character Dr Sacha Levy (played by Bob Barrett), will return on this weekend’s episode of Casualty. The news of Sacha’s return was shared on Casualty’s social media on Tuesday to thrilled reactions from fans of both medical dramas.

The show posted a photo of Dr Sacha in his purple scrubs with the caption: “Calling all @bbcholbycity fans! Sacha Levy is back! #Casualty Saturday 8:50pm on BBC One.”

There was a huge reaction to the news in the comment section of the post as fans shared their excitement on his return.

One fan wrote: “Ah love Sacha he’s my absolute gent makes my heart melt,” while another commented: “I love sacha so much, can’t wait to see him again.”

Fans of Casualty actor Jason Durr had already figured out Barrett would be returning after they saw a behind the scenes shot on his Instagram back in October.

Jason captioned the photo: “Had a gas with the lovely #bobbarrett on the @bbccasualtyofficial set recently #bbccasualty #holbycity.”

Holby City ended in March 2022, amidst plans for the BBC to make more shows set across the country to better reflect its diversity.

Bob’s first appearance on Holby City was in 2010, and his character Sacha has had many hard hitting storylines covering difficult relationships and depression.

When Holby City ended Bob admitted he would miss playing Sacha, he said: “I’ve been lucky with how they’ve made him very human with flaws, and I think that’s been amazing.”

The actor continued: “If you do a Shakespeare play, you go through the whole of someone’s life in two and a half hours.

“Whereas here, you go through the whole of someone’s life in 12 years, so you get to do it bit by bit so they become unbelievably real.”

Bob has appeared in Casualty once before during the 2019 crossover special, CasualtyXHolby, in which his character Sacha was involved in a severe car crash.

Sacha and his daughter Beka (Francesca Barrett) were both in the car but he suffered a more severe injury and collapsed, resulting in the Casualty characters having to save him.

Fans theorised about what storyline Sacha may be involved in on his return to Casualty, with one writing: “Yeah – Let’s hope he can save Robyn.”

The viewer is referring to last weekend’s dramatic storyline which left nurse Robyn Miller’s (Amanda Henderson) life in jeopardy.

After a decade in the hospital, last week’s episode saw Robyn finish her final shift, after her partner Paul decided to move to Wigan with their daughter.

The paramedic then learned there had been a road traffic accident and in the final moments it was revealed Robyn had been involved.

This storylines comes amidst chaos in the Emergency Department as senior nurse Jacob (Charles Venn) refuses to bring in extra help for the overworked staff.

Earlier in the episode, Robyn stood up to Jacob about these issues to no avail, so it is even more heartbreaking to see her suffer the consequences of his actions.

The final moments of the episode showed Robyn in a critical condition, while the hospital struggled to find an ambulance to send to the scene, leaving the episode on a huge cliffhanger.

Hopefully Dr Sacha will be stepping in to assist.
