Celebrity Masterchef 2023 line up revealed with Emmerdale actress, Love Island stars & Strictly pro heading into kitchen | The Sun

THE Celebrities are back and hoping to battle it out once again in the infamous MasterChef kitchen in order to take home the crown of Celebrity MasterChef champion.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be casting their watchful eyes over the stars as they see if they have what it takes to become victorious on the BBC One show.

Through six weeks of challenges, the celebs will be put to the test to see if their culinary skills come out on top.

They will all be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Lisa Snowdon who lifted the trophy last year.

This year's cast is more glittery than ever before thanks to two Love Island favourites, a stunning Strictly pro, an award-winning rapper and even one of the nation's best armchair critics.

Let's meet the cast of Celebrity MasterChef 2023…

Amy Walsh

Glamorous soap star Amy will be attempting to whip up something tasty when she braves the heat of the MasterChef kitchen.

The 36 year old has been appearing in ITV's Emmerdale as Tracy Shankley since 2014 but took some time off last year to welcome her first child, Bonnie, with partner Toby-Alexander Smith.

However, it seems that Amy has managed to fit in a stint on the programme whilst on maternity leave.

The sister of Girls Aloud beauty Kimberley Walsh will be hoping that her time in the kitchen will help her to make the best dishes at home for her newborn little girl.

One of the most surprising entrants on this year's line-up is Black Eyed Peas star Apl.de.ap.

The rapper, 48, has been a part of the legendary US hip hop group since its inception alongside frontman Will.I.Am and fellow rapper Taboo.

With a Fillipino origin, he is sure to introduce some flavours and dishes from his motherland in order to woo the judges.

With the group, he has achieved immense success from various awards to platinum selling albums and a slew of number one singles across the world.

Cheryl Hole

RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole is hoping to follow in her fellow drag artists footsteps on the programme.

Both Kitty Scott-Claus and Baga Chipz have shown their cookery sills before but now it is Cheryl's time to attempt to win the crown.

Cheryl, 29, is the stage name of Luke Underwood-Bleach who took part in the first British series of the BBC Three programme.

Dani Dyer

Dani has become an in-demand TV star since winning over the nation's hearts on Love Island in 2018.

The daughter of ex-EastEnders actor Danny has enjoyed a glistening career in the spotlight from reality shows to inspiring documentaries as well as becoming a leading 'mumfluencer', it seems that there is nothing that Dani cannot turn her hand to.

The 26 year old TV personality recently became a mum-of-three after welcoming twins, Summer and Star, with her West Ham ace boyfriend Jarrod Bowen.

Dani is already mum to her adorable young son, Santiago.

Dave Benson Phillips

58 year old entertainer and TV presenter Dave will be hoping to add some flare to the MasterChef kitchen.

The star is best known for his work on children's programme including being a leading presenter on Playhouse Disney as well as the Fun Song Factory.

In recent years, he has made a surprise career switch which has seen him wrestling whilst working as a blue coat at Pontins.

Dave is hoping that his stint on the BBC cookery contest will help to re-launch his TV career.

Dianne Buswell

Red-haired beauty Dianne is a whizz on the dancefloor but can the same be said for her skills in the kitchen?

The Aussie firecracker will be hoping that she can pull out all the stops when it comes to being crowned the champ.

Dianne, 34, began appearing as a pro dancer on the BBC talent contest in 2017 after previously working on the Australian version of the show.

During 2018, she managed to reach the final with YouTuber turned performer Joe Sugg, whom she later went onto date.

Jamelia

She sang about being a Superstar but can the same be said for Jamelia's cooking abilities.

The singer and songwriter will be attempting to put on a show when it comes to her dishes.

Having enjoyed a hugely successful career at the top of the charts, Jamelia has since turned to TV work including a spot on the Loose Women panel.

She has also kept up her performing side thanks to a stint on Strictly and a handful of small acting gigs.

James Buckley

His character Jay Cartwright was a menace in E4 sitcom hit The Inbetweeners but can the same be said for actor James when he takes on the heat of the MasterChef world.

The 35 year old actor rose to fame thanks to his role in the teen comedy.

How will John and Gregg take to the star's cooking?

Locksmith

The main man behind drum and bass group Rudimental is sure to be a hit in the kitchen.

Locksmith, 36, is a musical genius thanks to his DJing and epic record producing.

How far will he be able to make it in the tough contest?

Luca Bish

Hunky Luca, 24, will have to allow for all eyes to be on his food rather than him as he whips up a storm on the show.

The Brighton lad rose to fame on Love Island last summer where he famously coupled up with Gemma Owen.

Prior to appearing on the ITV2 dating hit, he worked as part of his family's fishmonger business.

Therefore, don't be surprised to see Luca creating epic fish dishes left, right and centre.

Marcus Brigstocke

Comedian Marcus will be pushing himself to his limits for the competition.

The 50 year old has enjoyed a glittery career in comedy across the radio airwaves, TV screens and on the stage.

However, he will need to pull out more than just a few jokes if he is serious about staying in the contest.

Max George

Heartthrob Max will be sure to add a whole lot of love into his dishes.

The Wanted popstar, 34, has proved he can do almost anything.

He has had number one hits, a stint in US sitcom Glee and even impressed on the Strictly dancefloor.

Will he be adding 'chef' to his many job roles?

Mica Ven

Mica rose to fame on the Channel 4 series Gogglebox alongside her partner Marcus.

However, the couple quit the programme before the latest series in order to pursue new opportunities.

It seems that one of those was an appearance on Celebrity MasterChef for Mica.

Mica will be jumping for joy after going from watching the show for a living to being on it!

Michael Praed

63 year old actor Michael is most known for his role as Robin of Loxley in the 1980s series Robin of Sherwood.

Michael even has a link to one of his rivals on this year's contest.

He played the role of Frank in ITV's Emmerdale between 2016 and 2019.

Frank was in fact the father of Tracy, played by fellow MasterChef star Amy Walsh.

Will we be seeing some 'father-daughter' rivalry on the show.

Remi Burgz

Remi is a DJ and radio star who has seen her career blossom over the last two years.

A regular on BBC Radio 1Xtra, she quickly rose up the ranks to take over the prestigious breakfast show from Yasmin Evans.

Remi is of Nigerian heritage and the foods from the country could be key to her securing the top spot in this year's competition.

Richie Anderson

BBC Radio 2 star Richie is most loved for his appearances on Zoe Ball's Breakfast Show.

The 35 year old from Birmingham works as a travel reporter on the station and last year enjoyed a brief stint on the Beeb's Strictly.

Richie will be hoping that he will last a little longer in the kitchen than he did on the dancefloor.

Sam Fox

Glamour girl Sam has enjoyed a long-running career in the UK spotlight.

Having started out in the modelling industry, she became one of the leading faces of glamour.

Showing she had more on offer, she worked as a singer and released a collection of dance music hits.

Alongside her singing career, she has kept up the TV work and taken trips to both the Celeb Big Brother house and the Aussie jungle.

Shazia Mirza

Award-winning comedian Shazia will be pulling out all the stops to ensure she secures a place in the all-important MasterChef final.

Alongside her comedy work, she is a published columnist and active TV star.

She previously appeared in reality shows Celebrity Island on Channel 4 and the short-lived Channel 5 programme Celebs in Solitary.

Terry Christian

63 year old broadcaster and journalist Terry will be hoping that he falls on the right side of John and Gregg when it comes to his culinary skills.

Terry is mostly known for his role as host of Channel 4 late night show The Word as well as ITV's moral issues talk show It's My Life.

Hopefully there will be only good things to say when it comes to Terry's cooking.

Wynne Evans

Known to many as the 'Go Compare man', Wynne is an opera singing legend thanks to his stand-out TV advertisements.
