Coronation Street fans left laughing at eco-warrior Maria’s lighting blunder

Coronation Street fans have all been saying the same thing after they noticed Maria's epic eco blunder.

They spotted an apparent mistake that made them "giggle" after the hairdresser has recently turned into an eco-warrior.

Maria, played by Samia Longchambon, has thrown herself into a political career after learning that her son Joseph's asthma was brought on by traffic.

While the local councillor has been putting green issues at the top of the agenda, bringing in extra bins and new collections, residents aren't too impressed and she has been targeted by online abusers.

A fake video was made to humiliate her, in which her face was added to the body of a naked woman.

However some Corrie fans have noticed an epic blunder that suggests Maria may not be as eco conscious as she thought.

One viewer took to a Coronation Street Facebook group to ask: "Anyone else noticed that Maria's flat is like Blackpool illuminations?"

They added: "Broad daylight and she has every light on in that flat. I've counted at least seven lights on constantly and she goes on about saving the planet."

Another agreed: "Well spotted, they made a mistake there."

A third echoed: "Made me giggle. The other day when after giving a lecture on recycling, saving the planet, etc, she and Gary walked into their flat in broad daylight and first thing she did was turn two lights on which made absolutely no difference to the level of lightning in the flat lol."

A fourth wrote: "If she was serious she'd be using a refillable coffee cup. Small touch, but shows some intent."

While another observed: "All the houses have lamps on in the daytime."

However some fans rushed to the soap opera's defence.

One said: "It’s TV Land, they need the lighting to film!"

Another wrote: "She don't pay it. Corrie do."

A third commented: "I despair at this nit picking you're supposed to be concentrating on the storylines, not on how many lights are on."
