Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) confessed to killing her husband Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) to Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) in dramatic scenes on the ITV soap. Fans were left in shock when they discovered Spider’s actually an undercover police officer and eagle-eyed viewers think they have “worked out” an upcoming twist after spotting a suspicious piece of jewellery.
Toyah revealed to Spider she made a conscious decision to kill her husband Imran in a horrific car crash earlier this year.
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) recently overheard a guilt-ridden Toyah confessing to Spider she lied to the police about Imran.
This came days after ITV viewers learned Spider is an undercover police officer.
A distraught Toyah told him she crashed her car on purpose and intended to kill Imran.
Coronation Street fans have been concerned Toyah’s admission will have serious consequences.
Many are also convinced Spider’s beaded necklace could have been a wiretap which recorded Toyah’s confession.

Ryan added: “Toyah has just confessed to Spider (an undercover cop). If only you knew Toyah #Corrie.”
Mike remarked: “Toyah confessing to spider (an undercover detective) that she drove the car into the wall on purpose to kill Imran. I knew it was on purpose. The video of the crash is proof she didn’t attempt to swerve out of the way. #Corrie.” (sic)
Grianne said: “Now Spider knows Toyah’s big secret what’s he actually gonna do next, that’s the big question. Leanne’s obviously never going to grass on her own sister no matter what but Spider’s a cop, he has a much bigger responsibility. It’s literally his job, after all, to put killers away #Corrie.”
Michelle added: “Toyah confessed the truth eek! What will Spider and Leanne do? #Corrie.” (sic)
Toyah had been charged by police for crashing the car on purpose as she struggled to come to terms with the news Imran had lied about his liaison with Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) and their custody battle.
Baby Alfie was born after Abi and Imran cheated on Toyah and the trio became embroiled in a lengthy custody battle in court.
With Toyah’s murder trial looming, will Spider share with his boss DS Swain (Vicky Myers) the news of her confession?
Toyah actress Georgia recently spoke to The Mirror about Imran’s death, saying: “She didn’t get in the car meaning to kill him or hurt him.”
She also teased Spider is set to struggle to cope following her murder confession.
She added: “I’ve said all along I really want a prison storyline.
“I just think that it looks like so much fun and I think it could go one of two ways because Toyah’s got this counselling background, or she could just be bullied, like massively.”
