Holly Willoughby ‘moves on’ from ‘toxic’ This Morning claims with playful BTS snaps

Holly Willoughby ignored claims of "toxicity" at This Morning as she shares some playful behind-the-scenes snaps and video clips. Holly, 42, returned to the ITV show on Monday after an extended half-term break.

This Morning has been met with a number of controversies in recent weeks. After Phillip Schofield stepped down from the show, he later confessed to having had an affair with a much younger colleague, with him resigning from ITV. Since then, a number of former staff members have come forwardwith allegations of "toxicity" behind-the-scenes at the morning show.

Taking to Instagram following today's episode, Holly shrugged off the toxic claims, as she shared a video clip of co-host Craig Doyle playing on a recorder. The video was first shared by This Morning chef Juliet Sear, with Holly re-sharing it to her Instagram Story.

Adding text to the clip, Holly wrote: "When you work with Mr Tumnus… [recorder emoji] [music note]. So glad you captured this @julietsear [laughing emoji]… step away from the recorder @craigdoyle."

Holly followed this with a selfie as she posed alongside a smiling Craig. And as usual, ahead of today's show, Holly shared a photo of her outfit to her Instagram Grid – smiling as she posed in a glam £435 Mercy Delta dress.

Captioning the photo of her in the pretty dress, Holly said: "Morning Thursday… see you on @thismorning with the lovely @craigadoyle … @mrmartincompston talks @socceraid and @wrighty_ joins us with his whole family #hwstyle."

Holly's return to bright outfits and fun behind-the-scenes clips comes after her return to the show on Monday, which saw her sport a sombre white dress. At the start of the show, she addressed the departure of former co-host Phillip, telling viewers that she had been feeling "shaken" and "let down" by her former pal.

And while Holly has not personally addressed the toxic claims, she did add that the This Morning "family" will continue to "work hard" on the show.

A number of other members of the This Morning team have responded to these claims, with Vanessa Feltz discussing it on her TalkTV show. She began: "It has been suggested that quite a lot of the people who are very vocally critical of This Morning and, actually, it's a handful of people, there are some celebrities, a couple of journalists, and what's been suggested is quite a lot of them were once on the programme and aren't on it anymore.

"And that is the reason for this aggrieved, grudging malice that is coming out but if you ask people who are still on the programme and who are on it regularly, who enjoy being on it, they won't know what they're talking about."

Presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary also addressed these claims as Dermot said: "We all know we happen to be in the news at the moment and of course we appreciate that but just from both of us, the whole team here, the crew, the guys downstairs, we love making this show for all of you.”

Alison added: "Yeah we really do and that's exactly what we are going to do, we are going to continue to do that." To which Gyles Brandreth, who was in the studio to review the news stories of the day, said: “We are very happy to be here, can I say that as well?"

The show’s former resident doctor, Dr Ranj Singh, made allegations of a “toxic” culture at the flagship ITV daytime show, saying he raised concerns about “bullying and discrimination” two years ago when he worked there – and afterwards felt like he was “managed out” for whistleblowing.

Following Ranj's statement, an ITV spokesperson told The Mirror: "We are sorry to read Dr Ranj’s post today. At ITV we are fully committed to providing every opportunity for anyone who works with us to raise any concern or comments they may have. Following a complaint made by Dr Ranj, we appointed an external and independent advisor to carry out a review. This external review found no evidence of bullying or discrimination."

Meanwhile, former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes accused Phillip of “toxicity” in an interview on GB News. Eamonn also hit out at Holly, claiming that she doesn't know the names of anyone working behind-the-scenes, and that she is "distant."
