Corrie spoilers see guilt-ridden Paul confess his betrayal to horrified Billy

The path of true love never runs smoothly – and for Coronation Street's Billy Mayhew, that's exactly right, as a guilt-ridden Paul confesses about his drunken hotel night with his ex, Zac.

Last week fans watched as Paul, played by Peter Ash, faced tensions and arguments at home, as loved ones fought over the best way to help him following the devastating health diagnosis that he's living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Trying to remain upbeat and look on the bright side, Paul's family and friends manage to come together and organise a chilli-eating fundraiser at the Bistro, to help purchase the equipment that he'll need at home as his illness develops.

Dev Alahan, Shona Platt and Chesney Brown all take part in the fun competition, with plenty of supportive cheering and Paul's sister, Gemma, reminds everyone to dig deep in their pockets, eventually raising £800.

It's all too much for Paul though and soon his partner, Billy, played by Daniel Brocklebank, and his mum Bernie are at loggerheads with Billy believing religion can be a positive influence on Paul as the months progress, whereas his mum pushes her alternative crystal therapy at him.

Storming out, Paul finds himself at a hotel bar and chatting to a blast from the past, Zac, who offers to buy him a drink.

Disaster strikes though when Paul wakes up with no memory but the worst hangover, and notices that Zak has robbed him of the charity money.

On returning home with his tail between his legs, Paul lies to Billy, telling him he slept on a friend's sofa. Soon though, Billy starts to discuss the £800 funds and how best to use them, forcing Paul to confess everything.

Billy is appalled and distraught, and wants answers on how far things really went, but Paul can't remember a thing.

Fans will be on the edge of their seat waiting to see if Billy will stick with guilty Paul and if they'll ever manage to track down Zak and the stolen money.

Corrie fans were left sobbing at the end of May when Paul broke down and told his twin, Gemma, that he is dying from motor neurone disease.

The tragic news was spilled at Gemma and Chesney's wedding, where Gemma worse an outrageous orange wedding dress, with Paul originally seen trying to argue with his sister in an attempt to avoid the wedding and hide his condition.
