There’s trouble in paradise in Weatherfield between couple Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) and boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) in upcoming episodes. In scenes set to air next week, viewers are set to see Daisy let down by Dan after she finds a lump in her breast.

Daniel’s had a fairly rocky love life over the past few years, following the tragic death of his wife Sinead (Katie McGlynn) he started to date Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

Although, the duo decided they weren’t meant to be as she moved away from the cobbles in pursuit of a writing career.

Finding romance with Daisy, everything seemed to be going smoothly until next week when they’re both tested in more ways than one.

In upcoming scenes, Daniel sees a magazine article written by Bethany and gets inspired to start writing himself again, although Daisy is left unnerved and slightly jealous at the mention of her name.

Later on, Daisy discovers a lump in her breast as she confides in Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) who persuades her to speak to Daniel.

When she tells her boyfriend about her health scare, he seems slightly shaken but agrees to go to the doctor with her.

Trying to hide his anxiety, due to the fact his late wife died from cancer, he promises Daisy he’ll meet her at the medical centre.

When he’s at the Rover Return later on, the drinks start flowing and Jenny is horrified to learn that he’s let Daisy down.

Announcing to the confused punters in the pub that Daisy might have cancer, he staggers out to attend to his girlfriend.

However, this decision came after Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) stepped in to persuade Daniel that alcohol isn’t the answer and he needed to go and be by her side.

Alone, Daisy is having her appointment when it’s quickly interrupted by a drunk Daniel who throws open the door and staggers in.

A theory by Express.co.uk suggests that Daisy is furious at Daniel for his behaviour and demands he wait outside for her.

Once her appointment is done, she scolds her boyfriend for being irresponsible and believes his drunk outburst is also linked to seeing Bethany’s name earlier on.

In his intoxicated state, Daniel doesn’t deny the accusations as he doesn’t want to reveal the truth about him being scared to lose her as he did Sinead.

With Daisy’s insecurities rising and her mind now focused on her health scare, could her relationship be too much to handle at the moment leaving Daniel heartbroken once again?

Touching on Daisy’s jealousy, actor Rob Mallard stated as she’s never met his ex before, she’s created this figure of what she’s like.

He told Metro: “She’s very typically jealous, she never met Bethany, so she’s only got the Bethany that exists in her head, who will have 10 times better everything than she could ever offer because she’s never met her.

“It’s almost this fictional figure that she’s competing with and that triggers some of Daisy’s behaviour.

“Daniel doesn’t have a wandering eye, his values are very much focussed around family.”
