Coronation Street icons share pictures as they glam up for cast party

The stars of Coronation Street left the cobbles of Weatherfield behind them as they glammed up for their annual Summer party.

A number of stars took to Instagram the following day to share pictures from the star-studded event, held in Manchester.

Leanne Battersby star Jane Danson posed alongside Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, Abi Webster actress Sally Carman and Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt.

‘Such fun at the Coronation Street summer party with these lovely ladies,’ she wrote beneath the photo which saw them smiling into the camera.

Former co-stars rushed to the comments, with Catherine Tyldesley, who played Eva Price, commenting a series of heart eye emojis, while Sophie Webster star Brooke Vincent wrote, ‘love you guys, you all look amazing’.

Also attending the event were Amy Barlow and Summer Spellman stars Elle Mulvaney and Harriet Bibby, who took a break from filming their hard-hitting storylines to enjoy the glamourous do.

In recent months, they have both been involved in difficult scenes.

After being raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven), Amy has been trying to get her life back on track.

Meanwhile, Summer has been coming to terms with Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) MND diagnosis.

The party also saw Corrie’s newest and longest-running stars pose for a photo together, as Stephanie Davis, who has recently joined the cast as Courtney Vance posed alongside Ken Barlow legend William Roache.

‘He’s so wonderful,’ she wrote, beneath the photo, which she posted to her Instagram story.

Courtney will make her first appearance on Coronation Street on July 19, alongside husband Darren, played by Ryan Early, who accompanied Stephanie to the event.

Despite her marriage to Darren, Courtney will soon engage in an affair with much younger Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).

Also in attendance was actor Martin Hancock, who plays Spider Nugent.

He posed alongside Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor for a picture shared with Georgia’s 80,000 Instagram followers.

‘ITV summer party shenanigans. On a Tuesday. I guess we’re hardcore up north,’ she wrote alongside the photo.

‘Lovely photo photo you all,’ one fan responded, while another wrote, ‘You all look stunning! Hardcore is the way in life!’

Former Corrie star Bhavna Limbachia, who played Rana Habeeb between 2016 and 2019, left three heart eyes emojis in response to the photo.

Though Georgia and Martin were all smiles at the party, their characters Toyah and Spider have some difficult scenes coming up which see Toyah taken hostage by an enemy of Spider’s, resulting in a gun showdown.
