However, his wife Gabrielle makes her way to Coronation Street with a shocking demand.
ITV viewers were instantly suspicious of the businessman portrayed by Todd Boyce but Weatherfield residents are still struggling to see right through him.
But one of his biggest secrets is coming to light next week as he gets closer to the Underworld business.
Coming up next week, Stephen gets told by his niece Sarah Platt (portrayed by Tina O'Brien) that she's arranged a meeting with a couple of potential investors.
However, Stephen gets a shock when his wife Gabrielle makes her arrival in the cobbles, demanding the 200,000 euros back that he stole from her company.

To make her intentions clear, she also warns him she'll be going to the police if he refuses to pay her back.
In previous episodes of the long-running drama, Stephen was seen make a payment under his wife's name.
Stephen's financial issues are becoming more obvious as time goes by and viewers have rumbled his true intentions with his mother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
This is to be confirmed, once again, when Stephen lets himself into No.8 and takes out the trust fund papers, practising the hairdresser's signature.

But Audrey is set to walk in on him doing so – will she finally realise what he's up to?
Audrey was ready to trust Stephen with her fortune by opening up a trust fund and leaving him in charge of her entire wealth.
She had a change of heart after her heart-breaking suicide attempt and resorted to a normal will, giving each member of her family an equal share.
However, Stephen was left out of the will after he insisted he didn't need his mother's money.

Stephen had then arranged for Audrey and his sister Gail to attend the ceremony across the Atlantic.
In 2007, Stephen visited Weatherfield but there was no sight of Gabrielle.
