ONE of many Weatherfield icons, Kirk Sutherland first appeared on the cobbles in 2000.

More than two decades after his Coronation Street debut, actor Andy Whyment has bagged a new role in connection with the ITV soap.

Good-hearted Underworld packer Kirk is a favourite among fans and has been through his fair share of explosive ordeals in Weatherfield.

But despite the obstacles in his way, Kirk has always managed to climb out of tough situations, never losing or compromising an ounce of his kindness.

Fans of the Manchester-based program might be very happy to see more of Kirk actor and I'm A Celebrity star Andy Whyment, as the soap legend was recently offered a new role.
