Corrie fans ‘rumble’ Stephen’s next victim as character ‘signs own death warrant’

Coronation Street fans think they have rumbled cobbles killer Stephen Reid's next victim after Friday's episode.

During the latest episode, Stephen Reid was confronted by businessman Owen as he accused him of using Seagull Ltd to siphon money from the Underworld factory and pining after Jenny Connor.

In the scene, Stephen tried to sell himself as a successful businessman to which Owen said: "The thing is, Stephen, I'm just really not buying this respectable businessman shtick anymore.

"I don't trust you and I don't trust what you've been up to at the factory either. I wanted to buy that place as a nest egg for me, for my future. But it is sounding more and more dodgy."

Stephen was left outraged as his fists clenched and he responded: "I don't know what you mean."

Owen replied: "Oh, Seagull Ltd, for a start. I don't think it exists, I think you created it to siphon off factory money for yourself and I'm sure you've got some very clever little answer but to me that is sounding more and more fishy. I should have stepped away when you were stirring things with me and Jenny…"

To which Stephen fired back with: "That was all just a misunderstanding…"

But Owen hit back: "There is only one reason why someone would want to push two people apart like that and that's because you want her all for yourself…", adding that he won't be buying the factory.

With Stephen clenching his fists again as he declared: "No, you're wrong…"

As Stephen tried to argue, the door opened and Elaine Metcalfe, Audrey Roberts, Sarah Barlow and Michael Bailey burst in waving flags and wishing him a happy Canada Day.

Soap watchers now think Stephen will be out for revenge and will pick Owen as his next victim.

Viewers will recall that Stephen has been on a killing spree on the cobbles – first murdering Jenny's fiancé Leo Thompkins in 2022.

Next up was Leo's father, Teddy, who became suspicious about Stephen and suspected he had murdered his son.

Stephen's latest victim was businessman Rufus, who was blackmailing him after discovering he was spiking Carla Barlow with LSD.

More recently, Stephen tried to murder Elaine Metcalfe, who he has a life insurance policy on, by spiking her tea and replacing her blood pressure pills with caffeine pills.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Has Owen just signed his own death warrant?! #Corrie."

A different account put: "How will Stephen bump off Owen, then? Or will Owen bump off Stephen? #Corrie."

While another viewer added: "So is that the end of Owen then? #Corrie."

Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
