Dancing On Ice chaos after Holly Willoughby forced to evacuate studio in her hair rollers

Dancing On Ice was left in secret chaos behind the scenes and Holly Willoughby was even evacuated from the building in her hair rollers as she got ready for rehearsals.

Fire alarms started sounding throughout the studio, with fears sweeping through the crew that a fire had started somewhere.

And as Holly prepared to unveil her latest stunning outfit on the ITV skating competition, she had to flee the building half-ready while security inspected what had set the alarm off.

The show's creative director and competitor Dan Whiston explained that many of the celebrities and whole production were left standing outside in the cold while checks were carried out.

What's more, most of the cast and crew weren't even "fully dressed" as the incident sent everyone rushing out to the car park.

"Last weekend, the entire Dancing on Ice cast, production and crew had to evacuate the studio after a fire alarm went off," Dan told The Sun.

"Many of the celebrities, including Holly, had to brave the cold weather outside whilst safety checks were carried out.

"The alarm sounded, and everyone sped outside into the car park. We were show mid-preparation when it happened, so quite a few of us weren’t even fully dressed, and Holly still had her hair rollers in," the skater went on.

Dan also explained that thankfully it was a false alarm in the end, and was actually triggered by a pair of curling tongs.

Despite that, the show director admitted everyone was in a bit of a "hairy situation for a while".

This weekend's show prompted fix claims from a number of viewers amid anger that Liberty X star Michelle Heaton was the second person to be voted off the competition.

In an unexpected twist, there was no skate-off between the 43 year old star and EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer, 50, who were revealed as having the fewest votes.

But rather than having an opportunity to be saved by the judging panel – as is what normally happens – the show decided to immediately eliminate the celebrity with the fewest votes.

Patsy scraped through to next week's show, and Michelle, who was partnered with professional Lukasz Rozycki, was sent home.

"I'm gutted. I've loved every second and loved everything I just did there," an emotional Michelle told the hosts.

"This man has been amazing, I'm so sorry it's been cut short."

Michelle received a score of 20 for her quirky performance to the musical Chicago track All That Jazz, but sadly her talent wasn't deemed up to scratch with the rest of the celebrities.

Dancing On Ice continues Sundays at 6pm on ITV
