Dancing On Ice flooded with complaints as Matt Hancock appears on ITV show

Dancing On Ice fans were fuming when former health secretary Matt Hancock appeared on the show in an unexpected arrival.

Sitting in the audience, Matt was joined by his girlfriend Gina Colangelo as Holly Willoughby spoke to the MP.

Asking him if he'd consider getting on the ice, Matt didn't refuse but instead deflected and said that he could do with "dressing up a bit" as he pointed to his white shirt and jeans.

But despite his upbeat mood, the huge grin on his face and the applause from the audience, fans of the show at home were less than impressed.

"Is this really where we are – asking Matt Hancock about the show? So he’s just a celebrity now? Really???!" asked one viewer.

"Why are we giving Matt Hancock more unnecessary air time?" asked another.

A third person then fumed: "Get Matt Hancock off my TV!"

Some fans however predicted a stint on the ice for next year's series of the show.

One said: "Would not surprise me if Matt Hancock is on the next season."

While another penned: "Matt Hancock is going to be on it next year isn’t he?"

And a third predicted: "I can totally see Matt Hancock on #DancingonIce next year."

While a fourth said: "And just when you think this show couldn't get any worse they bring on Matt Hancock, one of the most hated men the UK, but ITV trying to make him a celeb."

Matt has been in the public eye quite a lot recently, with the MP and former health secretary appearing on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! back in November last year.

He is also due to appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins later this year.
